Make a Prawn Lure from a Straw !

Спорт

In this video i show you how i make a Lure that represents a Prawn. All you need is a Straw and a Hook. You should be able to tie this in about 10 Minutes. Its a fun way to create something out of some old plastic straws.
Something to do at Christmas ! Impress your friends and family or even Catch Fish using Just a Straw! If there is enough interest in this Video then i will to a second part describing how to use it to actually catch.
The Prawn is such a good Lure and Bait for Bass here in the U.K and with the addition of a rattle it could be deadly.
I hope you have a go and i would love to know if you give it a try.

Hi Matt… Great attempt, I can tell you watched Blue Peter. I’ve looked at using prawn lures form the kayak… just think in 15-20 feet of water you could relay make em dance, but a good lure is hard to find! I’ve bought some of eBay with a wire attached … not sure how you rig these🤔 they were cheap so no loss, but they do look good.. any ideas? I know you made a vid a short time ago about a good shrimp/ prawn lure….. but can’t find it. ☹️ Keep making the vids love to watch em and gets the brain going….🤓B

Hi Matt, only problem is you can't get plastic straws anymore and all food outlets only give you a paper straws now, also I'm not keen about putting more plastic into the sea. 😲.

You can still get plastic straws bet there’s some in the back of the cupboard. Can’t see a problem using recycled returned plastic in the sea. There’s more plastic in line or any lure surely !

Hey I’m still watching the video I just want to say when i went fishing today by Cambridge road in Eastbourne me and my friends rods were just moving the whole time is this because of how rough the water is or is it not because I saw a video of yours fishing in the same condition and your rod looked still also thank you for the new video

I’ll pick up a bin liner of rubbish on the beach each trip.there’s 1/10th of the plastic in this lure than a soft plastic lure. So I’d have to loose 10 of them to be commensurate with loosing a soft plastic. You need to think less of it as a straw and as a small lure.I take your point about the eye that might fall out but ask you to think about a bigger picture here. I like many of my lure angling friends are a net positive in plastic waste by some margin.
