Make a Kane Tsugi Joint with Hand Tools | Traditional Japanese Woodworking
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
This traditional Japanese woodworking joint was inspired by @dylaniwakuni who specialises in Japanese joinery and woodworking techniques. It's my first time attempting it and I'm really happy with it. I will try this again some time in the future and I will use other hand tools such as a marking knife and router plane to improve the accuracy and get cleaner lines. But even with just saws & chisels, it turned out quite OK!
Tools used:
Suizan Ryoba pull saw: amzn.to/3igT5nV
Luban chisels: s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DCcfqJt
Mortise gauge: s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DmG4o3v

Good way to quickly get rid of excess wood. However some people would consider this as cheating in a hand tools only project :D

@@modarmakes it certainly can be considered cheating, but it's worth more as a time saver.

I would suggest you getting a fine tooth saw

I've got a fine tooth Dozuki dovetail saw which takes ages to cut. Might look into other alternatives.

Thanks! I used Tasmanian Oak which is a common hardwood in Australia.
