Make a guitar strap - it's quick and easy!
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
www.bernette.com / Sewing your own personal guitar strap can be really easy, even for beginners. Simply choose a cotton fabric that you like, iron it into shape and sew it onto the webbing. Finally, attach the leather parts and you can switch off the sewing machine and turn on your amplifier. You can download the template for the leather pieces at www.bernette.com/guitar-strap. In the video, the belt was sewn using the bernette 35, but of course you can also sew it on the other bernette models. You can find more information at www.bernette.com
Show us your guitar strap by uploading a photo to Instagram with the hashtag #bernette.

Funny story, I found an absolutely SMASHED guitar with one string in a free pile, took it home, and repaired it entirely on my own. I'm now going to make the strap for it!

Hello Lori, the video might a bit confusing but there is only one long strap. We couldn’t show the whole strap so you can only see both ends. At one end you have already sewn on the leather piece. On the other you will now attach the second leather piece.
Hi fantastic video, love it 😍. But please can you tell me where or the make of the carrier and buckle as I can’t seem to find them.

@@Mybernette Hello Kitty can't find that carrier and buckle. Where do you get yours at? I can't find one either not that size... And I am an avid sewer/ seamstress.

In Switzerland it is very easy to find these articles. Best is when you search online for carrier and buckles or when you ask in the shop where you normally buy your haberdashery. Shops that sell the webbing sell normally also these ones.
Where can you get the webbing and buckles from please? Thanks
@Mybernette

Dear Heidi, we are from Switzerland so we don’t know where you can buy it in your country. But this is a piece that is usually available in a haberdashery/handicraft shop. Very often you can find it also in online-stores as it is often used to make bags.
Please mention which material you used with names please.

The material details are inserted at the beginning of the video (at second 6).
I'm in the US, so I'm not printing on A4 paper. The dotted line in the middle of piece B measures 6cm. I see that the measurements for the webbing, carrier, and buckle is 5cm. Should I scale the pattern down to get 5cm across the leather piece?

Yes, you can scale the pattern down to make it work for the carrier.
Niice!
What are the tools you are using?

At this step in the video you see how the hole is made to attach the strap to the guitar. The template is used as a guide to punch the hole at the correct position.

Hi Susan, the length of the webbing used is 1.85 m. This is also stated in the video :)
Why do you need a guitar strap while sitting down?
@Mybernette
3 жыл бұрын
Hi PERKELE, yes you were right, when sitting it is not really needed. But this was in our film studio and not “under normal circumstances”. When playing a concert or in an audition it is easier with a strap.
