Gentleman Peach You are very welcome, thanks for watching. I think a thicker foam would make for some really good armor.
i find these videos very helpful cause it gives me ideas on how to make my dragon armor for next Halloween but i just have too questions 1) can i attach the shoulder piece to the armor? 2) when can you show us how to make armor from the waist down?( minus the shoes)
This is the one I made when I was a child! Wow I'm so happy to see you
Thank you for making this tutorial! I just completed a Roman soldier costume for a young relative and used your tutorial to make the breast plate. Much lighter and more flexible than cardboard!
this helped me out so much, in the process of making a chest chest armor and this by far has been the easiest and yet most affordable way to go.
Thank you for this entire playlist, Will! I'm making a Tamatoa (from Moana) costume for Halloween and figured armour was the only way to go about making it accurate. After a few weeks of stumbling around on KZread looking for tutorials, here I am! It's working out really well so far, and it's all thanks to you! Have a great day!
I just discovered these videos today! I am PUMPED to begin doing this. Thanks so much!!

Sooooo.. I'm creating a project and I think this will help me figure out which direction to go... I love that the tutorial is so simple!!
You are my go to guy!. I'm making a suit of armor for a St Joan of Arc costume . This is my 4th year dressing up at my church , and I always kill it! I will send pics as I complete each piece. Thanks for all your help.
Your tutorials are great! I did the Deadpool swords for a cosplay and I'm using some of your armor tutorials to make a medieval stormtrooper. Keep doing what you do!
I love your vids so much! When the entire amour set is made, I'm gonna make it!
This is fantastic! I've been too scared to make full armor but this video set of all the armor pieces is giving me the courage to try! I'll use this to make my chest piece for my next cosplay :)
You're an angel thank you for this!! I've been trying to make armor for my friend for a while but I could never find an easy tutorial. You're the best. Will send you pictures and a donation when everything is finished. Thank you!!!

A good chest plate has saved many a life :)
I love your tutorials! Super easy! Thank you! 😊
Very cool and the final look is very convincing. Even the seams down the middle are reminiscent if where they would bend and shape the steel plates during forging. The Templar's cross was a nice touch.

This is so helpful I'm going as Lemillion from Boku no hero academia and I needed a cheap and sturdy chest/vest tutorial
when are you gonna do leg and boot armor? I really love these and I'm using them for a knight costume for halloween!
Wow this is cool
I would really love a sauron helm, can't find a good video for it and I am wanting to cosplay sauron for Halloween. Hopefully you make it :)
Funny how my Halloween costume is all real except the Spartan spear, thanks to you, I actually was able to get the material and create it
omg I so needed this for my rex costume thank you
Nice work, Will. I am sure you will do some greaves, an armor skirt or some leg armor in the future.

Stronghold Crafter Kev Yes, I will be finishing off the whole set.
I was wondering what size of poster board you used, just to be as accurate as possible, great video btw!
i love ur work :D really nice videos , keep up the good work :D
I found in Michael's craft store a roll of craft foam that would be perfect for the chest piece because you can just roll it out and put the whole pattern on the foam no seams to worry about/
Thanks!
you're the best!!!!
Thanks
will you also make the leg and foot peice? it's im just planning to make a foam knight armor
This is exactly what I need to make the under-armor for the breastplate for my Mega Man Volnutt cosplay! Only alteration I'll need to do is change the hole for the head so it has a more cylindrical shape like Volnutt's armor has, then attach the breastplate to it.
This is cool
It'd be really cool to actually see this in action or on a real person.
awesome video. I want to make it too
Hi, thank you so much!! Can you make some suggestion on what one should do to so the foam armor can emulate the really anatomical curvature of real plate armor?
@hollyingraham3980
5 жыл бұрын
Start with a simple sewing pattern a size too large so it will go on over clothing. Fold out any darts to remove them. That is, don't fold them to just the dart length shown. Fold it all the way across the pattern piece so it stays flat. Another reason for the larger size. Then extend the front sides to get overlap.
can you make this with alternative material? for example leather or just regular foamboard
Fun build! I wonder how hard this would be to do out of sheet metal?
What size would your body armor fit? I need several for medium and large men. Thanks!
I'm gonna use these tutorials for my hussar armor for school
This is perfect my daughter wants to be a knight for Halloween
so did you spray paint over the velcro? Just wondering if it's safe to do that.
Thx
Plz make a naruto Kunai if you haven't already btw awesome job on everything you do
Is it ok if you use the correct color of foam or do you have to paint it
I cant find any posterboards here.. Is there any substitutions for it? Thanks and more power to your channel
Hey, does anyone knows how weather-proof this stuff is? looking for an alternativ for metal as an armor material for a one week festival outdoors (in winter). Does that foam dissolve in water?
Do you recommend any Make a... guides for a beginner?
Hi! Great video! Sure I'm gonna make this! I have a request! Can you make shovel knight's helmet and shovel?
Thank you so much for this! You have literally just saved me from ultimately giving up on my cosplay for Anime Expo! I'm cosplaying Keith from Voltron!

cool work! where can I find the woman's version? is the woman's more form fitting? thanks!
Hello what type of spray adhesive did you use?
hey epicfantasy how well will the velcro stick onto the posterboard? because when I apply velcro to other things such as cardboard, it pulls right off. Will it be very fragile and hard wearing? because I've been trying to make my own armor for the renaissance festival and I would like how well foam armor is before I start making it...

I hope it's not to late to help you. I made a foam armor and that's what I did : I sew my velcro to an extra piece of foam (the same size as the velcro) and I glue it to my armor piece with contact cement. I think that it holds better on foam rather than on the velcro tape. (I hope you'll understand me, english isn't my first language, and that's hard to explain !)
cooooooooooool ☺
hey man excelente work,im trying to make a 6-1 chain mail shirt (almost finishing dor my size) thanks to tour vídeo tutorial.why dont ya wear your foam armor set to show US?
Do you have anything on like the legs and feet I can't seem to find anything
Hey Will, I am making a kings guard costume from game of thrones and this chest piece is perfect. But i have some questions. I'm making mine out of 6mm foam and I was wondering if I can fiberglass over the foam. I also did not see a template on your website? I admire your videos so much, defiantly one of my favorite KZreadrs. Your amazing, simple, cheap armor and weapon videos are so great. I am also starting a beginner blacksmithing channel called TheYoungSmith. Keep up the great work.

Since you made the elucidator and dark repulsor from sword art online will you make any other weapons from the show because I would love to see Excalibur.
One question sir..Where do I find the velcro tape here in the Philippines? lol.
Very nice video ❤stay connected ❤India ❤🙏
Hey, could you make the monado from Xenoblade? That would be sooooo cool. I was thinking to make one using Great Stuff from home depot!
Quick question, how flimsy are these? Do they bend and move around easily? That's really my only concern. P.S. I plan on making an Asgore cosplay
Can craft foam be substituted by rubber sheets?
Thank you sir, for allowing me to make my dream of monster hunting armor.
Anybody know if there are larger foam sheets available so we can do the project in one piece?

Hey Will, are you ever going to make a helmet out of craft foam? Like, a close helm.
Awesome tutorial! I was thinking of making that then adding some extra things to make it look like the Mirkwood elves. Either them or the lothlorien elven armor. Will it work as well if i use hot glue?

So now , i can end with my Sauron's Cosplay :D
Where can you get spray adhesive?
when ever i try to go onto the storm the castle website to grab a template neither my phone nor my pc can load it. any idea why this is? i can load other websites just fine, any form of the storm the castle website gives me a website not found error though. thanks in advance :D
Is this viable to do with a single large piece of foam for each side? I have several thick foam floor mats I wish to convert into armour.
@epicfantasy
6 жыл бұрын
Yes, I believe it is. But, by "each side" you mean front and back? The only way to know is make up the template then see how the foam will fit on it. The thick floor mat foam can be a bit different to work with.
Can you do a Lorica Segmentata Roman Armor?
When you complete all of the armor pieces you should get a full body mannequin to display how all the armor would look together. Just a suggestion.
