Learn how to make a cheery whipped body scrub for summer. It's stunning, quick & easy to make, & an amazing body scrub. You only need 3 ingredients to make it!!! I LOVE EVERYTHING about this scrub! How it looks, smells, & performs. It cleans & exfoliates thoroughly & it's also perfect for pre-tanning!
RECIPE: 200 grams whipped soap base, 20 fragrance oil, & approximately 200 grams of exfoliant (I used half granulated sugar & half Epsom salt). OPTIONAL: The base already has a preservative so more is not necessary, however, because I added liquid colorant (which has water) I also added 2 grams of preservative just to be safe. You may also add melted butter and/or carrier oil if you wish. I've added both before & it's fine, but it really doesn’t make a difference in performance. If your scrub is too stiff, you can add carrier oil, melted butter, or more whipped soap. If it's drooping, add more exfoliant and/or leave the scrub out overnight uncovered. It will dry & stiffen overnight.
DIRECTIONS: Whip the base until it's light & fluffy then whip in wet ingredients. Next stir in the exfoliant [or add none & keep it as whipped soap]. Test it out as you're making it; add exfoliants until it feels right for you. Divide the batch & add liquid colorant to each. Randomly add the different colors of scrub to a piping bag. Always use 2 bags when piping thick formulations. Use a 902 tip to pipe frills or use a 7092 tip to pipe swirls. Gently pipe the scrub in the container with little movement. Slowly move the tip up as the scrub is piped. Don’t apply too much pressure or you'll smoosh the swirls/frills. Finally, make the small flamingo soaps. Chop the soap into small uniform chunks so they melt better in the microwave. Melt it, then add liquid color. You may also add fragrance oil if you wish. Pour the soap into the mold & allow it to fully cure. Unmold them. Last, place the flamingo soaps on top of each scrub.
