What kind of insanity. This is the first farming strategy that I've been able to actually work with startling effect. My first 4 maps I've averaged about 25 Deafenings. That's not counting the instantly upgradeable Screaming essences. This is baller!!!

League mechanics don't work with Calcification, but Masters do, Einhar's Beasts could be sometimes turned into essences long before 3.24, I believe the sulphite-hoarding monsters that spawn near Niko's Sulphite node with Guarded Hoards also can be turned into essences so there's an alternative if You don't like running Alva

@@Elldar111 I agree regarding beasts being trapped in essence. It just seems they don't interact with the scarab correctly. I did see people using the scarab with incursion though, might be something to check out

A few tips for the interested to boost the calcification scarab even further: - make map blue and reroll with alternation orbs until you get the +rare mobs modifier - take the Eternal Torment node on atlas - if you have the lantern window open, use Allflames to give monster pack leaders if they have none Be sure your char can handle strong bosses, because you get a lot more essence modifiers on your bosses.

i`ve been trying this with an invest of 1 divs in alteration and this map mod is kind of rare, idk if the odds of appearing do somehting to do with map quality, i havent put a single chisel on my experiment, but i think isnt worth

Yeah a bit of tankiness is key.

If the cost of ritual is low, I think that it would be the best, just buy vessels and go for it OR camp in sanctum. At a point, when fodder strategies become too relevant, the old high investment ultra volatile returns stuffs get very good.

Damn. Embarrassing I'm the last 3 comments here but... I started swapping out the 2 Scarab of Essences with 2 Scarabs of Adversaries. I'm averaging about 40 collected Deafening essences per map. That's before upgrading any of the shrieking I've found. I've had 3 out of maybe 8 maps drop over 50 deafenings. Really love this strat!

Maybe it is due to this strategy becoming more popular, but Scarab of Calcification are insanely expensive right now (april 9). Also scarab of adversaries are around 5c each right now.

An increase in popularity will increase the cost and decrease the profit margins on any strategy that involves trading, but costs aren't significantly increased. Calcification Scarabs are .5 Divine each in bulk, which is the same price they were while working on this strategy, and there are dozens of bulk listings of Adversaries for 4c or less.

Either can work. Bulk selling through TFT is faster. You won't extract as much profit, but you will save time that you can spend getting back into maps and farming, so it's really up to you!

Hey, thanks for the strat. I'm curious about corrupting essences now though. I've done essences in the past, but this league, and with this strat, I'm not having any luck corrupting them. I haven't seen a Horror, Delirium, Hysteria, or Insanity. Am I just unlucky or was something changed I'm not aware of? Thanks!!

Crystal Resonance changes the way that Remnants of Corruption function. They cannot convert Purple Essences into Corrupted Essences while that passive is selected, but it significantly increases the amount of Essences you get throughout each map by adding them onto the map boss.

I´m trying to bulk sell the whole stash tab right now (have only been trying for 2 hours though) cause I´m kind of afraid to be left with a huge amount of unwanted essence-types no one will want to buy. :P IF all of them sell though, then im in awe of how well this Strat is working. Had a blast doing it today so thx for that already! :D

Also, what do you think of the 'domination scarab of terrors', you can get 1 shrine for 1 atlas point and another one guaranteed for 5 more. Meaning 2 bosses, that in theory would have all the mods of the map boss which would include essence mods?

The Essence mods don't get shared, they're split evenly, meaning one gets one, one gets another, and so on, so you wouldn't be adding any value, you'd just be moving difficulty around.

Most map mods won't affect how many rares are in your map, just the amount of stuff they drop and how dangerous they are. Essence drops don't scale with quantity or rarity, so you don't need to Alch or Chisel unless you want other mobs in the maps to drop more stuff.

Does map tier depends on this strat? like higher tier more essences will have mob?

Why do you take the essence nodes at the bottom left? Doesn't more essences per monolith mean less chance to duplicate the deafening one on the boss, which is what matters?

With around 50 Essence monsters per map, that cluster adds roughly 30 Essences to each map. They can be Deafening. Those extra essences outweigh any possible gamble downside with the boss.

A few questions, does rolling more rare monsters, twin bosses generate more essences, and does rolling on higher tier maps generate more higher tier essences? Also, have you tried the ghosted rogue/unique scarabs that pairs with ritual and blood vessels or is that just streamer bait?

More rare monsters will, twin bosses will not. Higher-tier maps will not affect the tier of Essences. Farming Rogue Exiles is a good strategy, but because it's so well-known by this point, the cost of running it is pretty high and that means the profit margin is probably a good bit less than it was when it first started blowing up. That's how the PoE economy goes!

Make sure you unsocket your Voidstones before getting started so that you will be able to drop t6 maps. You can set all of your favorites to Promenade to help, and you can use Horizon Orbs to change over other t6 maps to Promenades, as well.

You could also roll maps with alterations untill you get area contains two unique bosses, that will boost the essence drops per map by alot!

Extra bosses causes Essences to split evenly among them, it doesn't duplicate the Essences. This would make killing the bosses easier, but not any more rewarding.

You can if you want, but you don't need to. Essences are not scaled by map mods at all.

This strategy seems very strong and your video is very good but man that scarab is expensive. Do you think there is a way and if is worth it to try it without that scarab? I'm already doing Alva is not that hard, only the RNG is annoying as hell.

You can do this strategy without the Calcification Scarab, but 0then there's no reason to force more rares onto the map, so you won't need the Adversaries Scarab, either. Instead, you'll just want to run an Essence Scarab of Ascent and regular Essence Scarabs. You can still run Alva, she's very profitable, but she won't add Essences.

They aren't pre-spawned in. You won't click the box and have a bunch of Essences spawn around you, unfortunately.

Excellent video and breakdown, I've been wanting to do some essences but was scared off earlier by the calcification price. Something a lot of people don't consider is ease of liquidation. I've been doing well on blight but it's hard to sell everything whereas essences you can unload very quickly after your session.

Tried another Syndicate essence to check, and that one also did the same thing, so at minimum, Syndicate essences are bugged. That could apply to others, too. Not worth testing!

If you're using Essence Scarab of Calcification, the rare monsters in Incursions will be converted into Essence Monoliths. If you're not, they won't. The only change to Essences in Patch Notes so far this league is that Einhar Beasts can once again appear in Essence Monoliths!

Unfortunately, GGG nerfed that interaction, but fixed the broken Bestiary Essence spawns, so you can swap from one mechanic to the other to get back some of that value.

I was farming essence, but it felt like half the time whenever i ran into a juicy essence monster, it wouldn't drop any essences. I think one of the new atlass nodes or scarabs was bugging out, dont know if they fixed it yet.

True, that is far and away the best strategy for farming corrupted Essences now. The downsides are that it costs about 150c per memory and supplies are not huge, so that could go higher if there's a rush to buy. Also, it won't generate as many regular Essences since you can't use Alva or Mirrored Rare Scarabs to force an extra ~24 Essences into each map. And finally, the Rogue Exiles are scary. With that being said: It's a good strat, and you can just run the maps white to reduce the danger from the Essence mobs.

Not sure if you mention this but several times I've had trapped mobs with muey essences and when they pop I get nada. Read that it was a known issue if you Allfame them. Not all mobs, but probably the best ones :-/

i see a lot less deafenings in t16 than you in t6. I have your atlas and scarabs. Is it due to map level or just bad rng? Also, in 2/4 of my alva incursions, theres no essences monster

Most likely just bad RNG if you're using the Essence Scarabs of Calcification & 2 Scarabs of Adversaries. RNG can lean a bit either way at times, but anywhere from 40-60 Deafening Essences per map is pretty typical if you're using all the tools available to stack as many Essence monsters into each map as possible.

They're a gamble. They select one Essence at random and convert all the others on the monster to that one. If you're feeling lucky, sure, but otherwise no.

Am I okay running these maps white or blue, I think juicing them too much will be a bit lethal for me at this stage. Or I can take a few alva nodes off to guarantee Niko (Need more atlas points).

You can run them white or blue, no problem. Losing Alva chance is probably not worth it, since you're potentially losing ~8 Essences per map.

i have one main question how much you can scale this down price wise. you recommend pretty expensive scarabs (at least for me). So for a person who has lets say 200c total and a build which can barely complete a t16 map is this even viable? I'm a new player and i don't have much so not sure how to judge this. Fully juiced version looks like it requires a very strong build and a lot of starting capital. Is a boss with 10 essences on it even killable for a regular player?

You don't need to run t16 maps, only t6 maps, so a boss with a large number of essences is probably not that different from a t16 boss. Doing this as a cheaper strategy, using only regular Essence Scarabs and one Essence Scarab of Ascent will yield fewer Essences per map, but also fewer Essences on the boss, so it will be easier. Running Alva just to make temples is also a really good strategy when you're flat broke, as the only startup costs Atlas Passives and maps.

Maybe try farming Alva too? One Locus of Corruption is 150C now and not that hard to farm one. I got about 2000C without even going into red maps. Farming Alva just need T1 white map and several atlas points. And no scarab needed.

I'm not getting any essences from alva incursion....am I doing something wrong?

Nope, they killed that interaction about a month ago.

My alva is not spawning when juiced with scarab. She appears when not juiced. What am I doing wrong?

As long as you have at least 92% chance for Alva to spawn in maps from your Atlas tree, she should spawn in every map. The only reason she wouldn't appear is if she has a temple ready to run. Putting her beside your stash so you don't miss when she has a temple ready can be helpful.

Pathfinder Ascendancy & The Tides of Time belt. It's arguably on par with MB for Pathfinders because it works with unique flasks like Taste of Hate and Progenesis.

There are flask enchantments for utility flasks that make them auto-use when they are full, and then you roll them for either increased charge recovery, or gain XX charges when you crit if you are a crit build.

How to i get bulk t6 strands? they sell for 20-25c each and running the t3 with a voidstone does not work.

It doesn't upgrade them to the corruption-only Essences, it converts all Essences to one of the type that's already on the monster.

Calcification Scarabs are kind of expensive for me right now. Can this strategy be done without them while still maintaining good profits?

You can do the regular version of Essence farming, which is just an Essence Scarab of Ascent & regular Essence Scarabs for all the other slots. It won't be as good, but it will be cheaper. You can run Alva at the same time, since her temples have skyrocketed in price, but Essence monsters won't spawn inside them without Calcification.

so does the map mod that increases rare size, does that mod happen before the duplicates and alvas. anyone test if its worth it to roll for?

The problem is 50% of the essence is not sellable, you need to use poe stack or wealthy exile and bulk sell it and to do that ya need huge ammounts of it

My Alva isn't getting Essences mobs. Any idea what's going on? I am using the exact strat in this. Edit: Ignore me. Just had a random map or two as my first maps where Alva didn't spawn rare mobs in even one of her things. It was super odd.

Well at least it's only slightly broken...

Just a note. Don’t use tower for this Strat. Learned the hard way that Brutus and shav will split the essences, but they will only drop from one of them. So you’ll deal with the buffed boss, and get none of the reward.

prices are over 75c per its about 87c to 101c, though realistically you would have to buy it at around 97c a pop now, i don't have the spreadsheet so idk if this is even still worth it or not at the time of writing this comment,

If you buy them for divines, they are substantially cheaper in bulk than buying bulk in chaos. You can buy them at a price of .5 divines each in decent supply, pretty readily. Even if the price of Calcification scarabs were 1 Div a pop, the profit would still be around 140c per map.

0.7-0.8D in bulk, you will have to buy it 1 by 1 if you want it to be cheaper. The margin is okay, but dealing with bunch of trash essences is painful. I like to just calculate things that u could liquidate within an hour

t6 is the easiest. Doing higher levels will increase the difficulty, but won't increase the rewards from Essences, so you don't really need to go above t6 unless there's a map you prefer at a higher level.

Hey hey! Gladly switched to your strategy, feels good so far, very chill. But ran into a problem: i can't get any value out of alva's temple bp. I checked many guides how to run it, i memorize needed rooms, always connecting as much as possible rooms through the temple, i understand swap and upgrade room part. But i failed like 8+ temples already, am i stupid retard or something? I tried swapping all rooms, tried upgrading all rooms(when no needed rooms to chose), tried mixing it. No matter what, i don't get needed room more than once per temple, ends up with t2, even when i have t1 of needed room already at starting fresh temple. Is there a way to navigate to needed room to upgrade it that im not aware of or is it completely random?

I use the incursion section of docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1fIs8sdvgZG7iVouPdtFkbRx5kv55_xVja8l19yubyRU/htmlview# and usually get 1 of the top three to 3. Also I usually go to the right even on the ones that are not good unless going to the left switches the temple to one of the top ones. Because it has a good chance of getting an extra level and then it will not appear when you go for the next map.

alot of times im not getting alva in my map even tho theres 96% chance. do u know why that might be.

You have a temple ready to run. Happens to the best of us. Move her right next to your stash, should make her a lot harder to miss.

I just try this strategy fully juicing a map and it’s definitely not worth it because most over 30 chaos orbs to run the map while not making that much at all

@@PathofEvening thanks for commenting Essence Scarab of Calcification are going for 24 chaos orbs each that is the most expensive part of farming the Eston strategy that you laid out just not sure if it’s worth investing that much in a map

You can progress your Atlas and unlock Favorite Maps (left hand side of the map page). That will progressively weight your map drops to be that map. Before that though, you'll probably have to buy them if you want to keep repeating the same map.

That works. You can use Horizon Orbs to reroll maps to ones of that tier, too.
