Thanks so much for the kind words Brian. I LOVE what you did on the track...such a killer lesson!!! The Clapton vibe hadn't even occurred to me, but it's totally true. Grew up listening to him sooo much. Anyway, thanks man - it's always SO inspiring to hear your soulful playing!!! 🎸

Quist!! Learned so much from both of you!
Santa came early….as soon as saw ‘featuring Quist” I knew this was going to be a banger. Thank you both 👍
The best bang for buck active melody
That last bit where you followed the chords on the turn round was AWESOME. Love that. Thanks Brian!
Cool looking Strat.
Always loved the crash Clapton strats! Would love to own one.
I like the design of the Crash Strats ...👍
Love this lead song. The Clapton sound is awesome!!
I totally enjoy and have learned from your videos. I started playing electric guitar about three years ago. I got the “ah-ha” moment from watching your videos. Thank you so much.
Again and Again these last 5 lessons have been amazing more of Brian’s sheer brilliance it’s what Saturday mornings are for and all for the most affordable subscription Merry Xmas to you and your family 🎸Great Guitar. Glyn UK

Can't go wrong with Sir Quist!! Nice. Oh, the guitar; absolutely beautiful!
Hi Bryan. Yes I like the sound of that guitar. Of course, I enjoy learning from you too!! Thanks
Beautiful guitar Brian absolutely love it
A beauty ✨ Happy holidays B !
Quist got groove....
Nice Guitar Brian! I like it. When I first saw the video pop up I was hoping you would tell us more about it. Very unique.
Thanks Brian for another Refreshing video
Brian - thank you so much, I really love this lesson and the Clapton feel to it….I’ve learnt a lot and I love the guitar 😃 thanks again
You have a beautiful assortment of guitars and you play them all very, very well! :)
Hi Brian, this song really caught my ear and I was surprised it was so simple, plus the Quist background music sounds amazing.
what a feeling !
That guitar is bad ass!! Your channel is as well....thanks for the lessons!
Beautiful and soulfull...❤
I think that the guitar is beautiful!
Thanks Brian … great piece .. will try and get this down later today. Gorgeous sound on that Strat .. I have a Tele so will have see if I can get close.
Fantastic Clapton lesson.explained so simply, but very well, sometimes with tips for something new. Was curious about the pedals on the floor.
Very beautiful guitar. I love the blue scratchplate. Best way to learn blues is listen to a lot of blues. A friend finds it difficult to play blues solos but he never listens to blues.

You do have to listen for sure.... But it's so much harder than just that. Have to learn the scales and the root notes, work on your vibrato and tone, and be able to inject some melody, drama, emotion, and structure into solos. And also know when to not play a note It's not easy at all. In some ways it's harder than what shredders do. They just go back and forth with a million notes a minute. I've seen so many of them do it without really thinking or feeling anything.

@@mr.d.572 You are right, I started playing in the 80's, so I do not even think about all those things anymore, that became second nature. Good you mentioned them. But most important thing is to have fun.
What a nice strat, love it.
That's a beautiful guitar, and it became even more beautiful as soon as I saw Clapton's signature on the headstock! 🤣
That guitar is awesome!!
This is a good one Brian! Thank you!
Brother im from Honduras and you are my idol ! Happy christmas !! Thnks for everything
Superb. I think the race will now be on to be first to post this one to showcase…
That’s a beautiful guitar… beautifully played…
Quist has some great jam tracks. Only problem is his solos at the beginning are so incredible my play along solos sound like a drunk kid playing the kazoo.

Quist is ridiculously skilled. But we all have to work on our strengths and not try to be someone else. I would love to play like Carlos Santana but it's just not how my playing comes out. I just wish I could find someone to jam with who's similar to my level. Just not happening in my area.

Lovely guitar and very useful class 👍👍
Man, I love this!
Tremendous! Wonderful!
Love this! Great vibe.
Beautiful guitar!
Whoa! a strat?..looks good on you..Sounds good too.
That's a nice looking guitar !
Thank you
Sounds awesome, looking forward to workin on it
Sweet pick guard.
Thank You...❤❤
Awesome looking guitar 🤘👏
I love the guitar but there is one thing I'd do to it and that is change the pickup cover and knob covers to black, maybe with those gripping black speed knobs... Either way it's beautiful...
After listening to the intro, I was like, I wish he would talk more about his effects and guitar... Them I was like I usually dont like painted Strats, but that one is awesome... lol. The 10 seconds later you talk about the Line 6 and the EC cross roads guitar. lol
Great
I like the guitar
W🤩W! That strat is gorgeous!!! It fits you perfectly - at least in this video 😉 Also, an awesome melodic EC-style lesson, your undisputed specialty! ♪💕
Nice :)
Should have rounded it all off with a Shabat Lynx Guitar! :)
Looks like Christmas came a little early for our favorite guitar teacher! Lol! Excellent lesson and how can you not love that gorgeous limited edition Crossroads guitar festival E.C. signature model painted by John Matos! Did it come in the tweed case? Have yourself a very Merry Christmas Brian! 🎄 🎸🇨🇦

Yes - tweed case 👍
Another great lesson! The guitar is not necessarily my taste, but as you know, you can't argue about taste. Everyone has to decide for themselves what they like and the "audience" has to accept that. I also have a problem with the Helix. I stopped using my own "Mini-Helix" because the settings were too complicated for me and I could never get a sound that I liked. Your previous recordings with the Kemper gave me a more natural sound. One last question: Is there a particular reason why you have all your Strats equipped exclusively with single coil pick ups instead of combined humbucker? Otherwise, I look forward to your creative and valuable lessons every week.
@activemelody

i guess i just take Strats as they come - which is typically just a single coil pickup - I do have a Danocaster Tele style that has a humbucker and a P-90 which I love.
Nice ! Man that strat is beautiful what model ?

Love this lesson, but at 08:00 I got a little confused about that "...we call this the A-shape from the CAGED system..."...well, clearly there is an "A" in that shape, but just for me to get this right, .. the scale shape you are showing is a major G-shape in the CAGED system, right?
Great lesson, I love your collaborations! Curious, what are you running your line6 into?

Hello 👋 Is the G chord (00:18:57) a borrowed flat VII from the parallel minor key?
are they still available?
Amazing playing as usual. That's a guitar you have to match your clothes with.
Hi Brian, nice guitar. Hey what do you think of the Yamaha Revstar element or any others in that line. I'm really thinking of buying one.

@@activemelody thanks anyway. They've had great reviews. Thought you would know since you're always shopping for guitars, lol. See you tomorrow.
I have to say that I always loved Eric Clapton’s guitar playing on the scores of the “Lethal Weapon” movies… some of the “licks” he comes up with on those ( particularly on the first and second movies) are absolutely awesome! Check them out.
That first part that links the A chord to the pentatonic confuses me. He’s playing an A major then proceeds to use A minor pentatonic. But the video is about major licks ???
@activemelody

That’s an A MAJOR pentatonic scale
@spitsparrow

@@activemelody so it is. I thin I often hear presenters saying "in A pentatonic" and not stipulating A minor or A major. The A major pattern you were playing I believe is mostly played as a minor pattern 1.. but can be played as a major pattern with pinky on root. So im learning there are no major or minor patterns....play them in different spots get diff results.
one on ebay for $9000 or $5200 on reverb
