Per Rosstat, 1/3 of the country still uses outhouse toilets and communal water pumps with no indoor plumbing nor indoor climate control. Outside of the two major cities of Moscow and St Pete it's straight up medieval. They were already 40 years behind before the war started but thanks to Putin's unforced error in invading Ukraine he's doomed Russia for generations, easily for the remainder of this century. And don't forget their impending demographics crisis. They're facing exactly what China is now facing with an aging population and too few young people to support them. I don't see them ever catching up to the modern world. Certainly not until they collectively make a concerted effort to embrace liberal democracy and free markets. Unlikely, as it's fundamentally incompatible with their historical culture of swooning over "strongman" leaders. We'll almost certainly see the collapse and balkanization of the Russian Federation before that scenario ever truly happens.

As horrible as it is, it is not the first time, nor will it be the last. Somehow, for unknown reasons, this is what Russians do. BUT it is also incredibly stupid of Ruzzia to do this just before a top-level NATO meeting. I recon it will add MANY billions to the pledges from the participants, juts as it no doubt brings closer the day all restrictions are lifted on Ukrainians using all available weapons in Russia proper (restrictions that are unfair & have never made sense), just as it will likely add further & more potent weaponry from partners.

PCBs did get to be used in the West. Not sure if still used but they'd certainly be used in russia today along with lead as a fuel additive and in paints I imagine for vehicles. One of the anti russian notable Ukraine politicians was poisoned by PCB administration maybe twenty years ago . Putin likes experimenting with various poisons .

@@tapmywire633 If you had any idea of how modern fighter jets work then you'd know they take a long time to develop. The Russians would know since they have been failling for years to make one after all (see Su-75) and needed over a decade to start production of another (see SU-57) and even then there's hardly any of them being produced. All you've done however is just show people how little you understand about a subject.
