Been there 23 years ago three children it does get better and co-parenting definitely will get easier didn't really realize that many years ago it was called co-parenting and are still doing it cuz at the end of the day it's about your children and then believe it or not your grandchildren yes it is hard sometimes but your children will thank you later admire both of you all for doing it I wish you the best

I know a lot of stay at home moms struggle with this even more so because of the financial dependency. It’s scary thinking of taking care of children with zero financial freedom and the cost of divorce is also a lot. It’s really hard.

I’m glad my parent separated when I was 13. Honestly they should’ve left way before then because there is some trauma from my pov. Life was happier when my mom was happier. I just wanted to say, this is so much better in the long run. And you are not selfish for leaving. You are sparing your kids of constantly seeing a loveless marriage as an example

I left a 33 year marriage a few years ago. We have two grown children and 4 grandchildren. He was a great deal older than me and I was SO unhappy for about 15 years but I stayed because of the kids and now I know it would’ve been better had I left long ago. It was the hardest decision I ever made but now my life is so much better! I deserve to be happy and I finally am! Divorce is hard! The one thing that helped me at the time were my friends and family kept telling me it WOULD get better at some point. And it sure did. You deserve to be happy and it WILL get better! My daughter told me it would have been easier if I had left when they were kids. Maybe that will help you know you’re making the right decision! I’ll be keeping you in my thoughts. Hang in there! PS- I remarried one year ago to a man that is the same age and life couldn’t be better! 💕🙏🏻

Stay strong, Mama! Life is TOO Short and you deserve happiness. Also, that environment is not good for the kids and also not a good example had you stayed with him because of the kids. I'm older, past the raising my kids stage and I've seen friends do that. One friend stayed until her kids were in HS - she was miserable for YEARS. Once she finally left, she was mad at herself for not leaving sooner! At any rate, some day .... you will look back and be glad the divorce happened and you will be happy again!

I don’t think it’s good to stay in a marriage for the children. Kids need to see a healthy happy marriage. Not a stressful unhappy one. You did the right thing ! Stay strong.

One of my best friends is only staying for the kids she said once they are in college they are now & now she stays cause it’s easier for her financially it breaks my heart cause I divorced with a toddler then remarried my BFF it was the best decision I’ve ever made to chose me & my son he gained a father and they are best friends he’s 25 now I will never encourage to stay when you have tried sometimes it’s even better you just can’t see it for many years lol 😂 praying for you ♥️

I was married for 12 years I have 3 kids we separated over a year ago still going to court and let me tell you it won't be easy at first but with time you will be okay I did it you can too I just recently got a new car as well all on my own so you got this never give up there's a lot of us in the same boat some on canoes and some are drowning but we all will make it God bless you and your beautiful kiddos

I do not know where your Faith is ,but you strong and you have not come this far in life for no reason! You will come out on the other side of all of this wiser, healthier, with a renewed sense of purpose and meaning for yourself and that of a mom as well. I’m sorry people have taken it upon themselves to express their negative opinions when it’s clearly not their place and they haven’t lived in the situation. I have been on the side of having parents who stay together simply for their children and that’s not ideal whatsoever. Children pick up on a lot more than you think and being in my teens with parents who were clearly unhappy was challenging to say the least. All that to say that you are doing what’s best for your family and that’s what most important. ❤️

I’m in a failed marriage but we are staying together for the kids. Divorce is terrible for children. Being from a broken home I know first hand. So sad 😞
