A major fire this morning completely destroyed Scouting Olav's clubhouse. The fire brigade had the 1984 wooden shed burned out in a controlled manner.
The fire was reported around nine o'clock, when there was already considerable smoke development from the building on the IJsselmeerweg. The Hilversum fire brigade had to come on site because initially there were not enough people available at the fire brigade through the turnout system.
The wooden shed was soon completely on fire and there was no saving for the firefighters. They were able to rescue a dog from the burning building, the animal is doing well.
The fire also released asbestos, but measurements did not indicate any danger to public health. The building can be considered lost.
