Great reaction! 😊👍This is my favourit song from them. About 15-16 ish years ago I was at a bar with a friend, and Sivert (the lead singer) was there with a friend as well. After a while he waved us over to their table. When the bar closed, Sivert and his friend joined me and my friend for a coulpe of drinks at my friends apartment. She lived close to the bar. She had a guitar, and he started playing. I asked if he would play Majesty for us, and he did! 😊 It's a memory I will remember for ever. Just the four of us, the most intimate concert I've had the pleasure of seeing.😁

Their album, Industrial Silence, is amazing. One of the best albums to ever come from a Norwegian band.

Woah, Madrugada! They're from my hometown, they're quite te hometown heroes. They showed us kids what's possible to achieve even when you live in a small town way up north in Norway. Got to see Madruaga seven or eight times, and Sivert solo a few times. Can suggest watching his concert from Athens, Greece.

They are pretty big in Greece. The amount of times they've come, even Sivert for a solo gig, is like they are locals! Their music was featured in a couple of greek crime drama series so that added up to their reputation. Personally not a big fan, but I love some songs a lot! When Editors came out on 2005 and heard Tom Smith's voice I felt like it reminded me a bit of Sivert Hoyem's voice!

I swear you two are the only ones reaction to my favourite bands. It's crazy, whenever I search for something thinking "no one will have reacted to this" the odds are you two have a reaction on it, if not always the song I was looking for, you at least have the band :) You're great.

Sivert Høyems voice is great. There's a deep melancholy there in the landscape between folk rock and country. My favourite song by Madrugada is "The kids are on high street." Høyem also sang a song supporting the UNCHR, that's quite moving. It's called "Prisoner of the road." Another song that's quite a bit more upbeat is the duet between Høyem and Ane Brun: "Lift me."

The guitarist you liked, has passed since this concert. And so, the band had disbanded, years ago. But I'd really recommend their first album, one of the best albums I can recall.

The song is from 2002 but the live footage is from 2005. Guitarist Robert Burås died suddenly and unexpectedly on July 12, 2007, the band had been in New York and made some recordings already in May 2007 and released the album in January 2008, "Madrugada" is the only Madrugada album where Robert Burås sings (Our Time Won't Live That Long). The band went on a farewell tour in 2008 with Cato Salsa and Alex Kloster-Jensen as guitarists. In 2018, original drummer Jon Lauvland Pettersen took the initiative to reunite the band to mark the 20th anniversary for the debut album "Industrial Silence" with Cato Salsa and Christer Knutsen as associated members, during the anniversary tour the band realized that they had missed each other and chose to continue and went to a studio in New York in February 2020 to record a new album. Last week they released the first single "Nobody Loves You Like I Do". Check out Robert Burås' band "My Midnight Creeps (2003-2007) which released two albums and Sivert Høyem's solo stuff

Madrugada & My Midnight Creeps with several guests paid tribute to Robert Burås with a concert in August 2007 where they performed four songs. Unfortunately, the whole concert is not on KZread, it is on Facebook somewhere but the songs were as follow "Don't Let'em Bring You Down" "Running Out of Time" "The Kids Are on High Street" "I'll Let the Light Shine on You" kzread.info/dash/bejne/lqqe2bh_Z5fLpbw.html

LOve to see you reacting to Madrugada! I love his voice. Several recommend his solo 'Prisoner of the road', I prefer the video over the live Nobel concert for the voice, though the images are... heartbreaking, and sadly as actual today, as in 2005. kzread.info/dash/bejne/lWFkzNtsmaaoaLg.html . And may I say Ginger, you look stunning there.

I might be first to ask, but it would be cool if you reacted to BigBang, a Norwegian band that was pretty popular back in the days. If you don’t react to them maybe others get music inspo ;) They are in the Rock/Indie/Country genre ? Im not sure which genre to place them, might be easiest with rock. (Theres also a k-pop band with the same name, but not them. ) Heres a few of their tunes that are great :) BigBang - Something special kzread.info/dash/bejne/qJdkm6VvhJepd7A.html BigBang - Saturn Freeway kzread.info/dash/bejne/k6CKusyrk7PQnaw.html Big Bang - Wild Birds BigBang - Girl in Oslo

I generally prefer studio recordings. huge fan of Sivert's voice and performance, although, that live 'jazzy' impro with the minor impurities is somewhat offsetting. Madrugada is top quality nonetheless.
