Sundfør wrote Blómi (new album out 28.4) above all as a love letter to her young daughter - a letter to a precious new life on its way into an unstable world. In the title track, which is based on a lush, driving piano arrangement and skin-tickling saxophones, Susanne conveys her wisdom to her daughter, and encourages her to take the words with her through life. In her lyrics, with hints of Norse language and mythology, Susanne refers to Nordic indigenous women-based cultures that built matrilineal societies and worshiped feminine deities. These roots, this repeated handing down from mother to child, are the core of the music at Blómi.

Susanne has a beautiful ❤ and soul and has made me cry often, this time with joy 😅
You should also see the video. Its from her own wedding. Very moving..
Thanks for your reaction, it’s a gorgeous song. The other new track, Leikara Ljóð, is yet again something you might not expect… but it’s also terrific. Some info about her upcoming album: - - - “I want this album to be an antidote to the darkness that dominates our culture today. I want to show that there’s another way to see reality, if one dares to take the leap of hoping for a more beautiful world.” - Susanne Sundfør ‘Five years after Sundfør redefined her career with the folk-inspired, emotionally-effervescent album Music for People In Trouble, the Norwegian musician, artist and producer delves even deeper into her personal mythology on the soul-bearing blómi. Meaning “to bloom” in Norse, blómi takes very unique aspects of Susanne’s life story, like the academic work of her grandfather who is a linguist specialising in Semitic languages, and her own life-changing experiences as a new mother, to weave together a colourful tapestry unlike anything she has released to date. Sundfør wrote blómi, above all, as a love letter to her young daughter, a missive to a precious new life entering an unstable world. In the title track, which is anchored around a lush, driving piano arrangement and skin-tingling saxophones, Susanne imparts all her wisdom to her daughter, urging her to take her words with her through life. Pairing her lyrics with hints of Norse language and mythology, Susanne harks to indigenous Nordic cultures who built matrilineal societies and worshipped divine feminine deities. These roots, this passing from mother to child, is at the core of the music on blómi. While Susanne’s previous albums, such as Ten Love Songs and The Brothel (which topped the Norwegian charts) established her as a singular voice in Norway’s modern musical history, blómi is a decidedly bold evolutionary jump. With its 10 expertly crafted tracks of exquisite songwriting, blómi represents a complex and rewarding new chapter in a visionary artist’s established career.’
Susanne hits like a freight-train sometimes. She is cherished as a national treasure over here in Norway. An absolute demigod.

She has a growing following here in the UK too. I'm hoping she'll perform on our shores soon. Otherwise I'll have to save my pocket money and book a short break to your beautiful land.
You should totally watch the official video for Alysoha. Made by one of Norway's best directors, Margret Olin, and shoot at Susanne Sundfør's wedding! It is so beautiful.
Maybe the most beautiful song i've heard in 2023... for now.
Fantastic 😊 0:44 - And Mike, I think you were quoting the “but I'm not the one holding the gun” line. Close! 😁
Just got a ticket to see SS in a church near Oslo. Nice to see other people appreciating her, as I don’t know a single person who’s a fan except me!

Wow! What an angelic voice. I love simplicity in music. Give me a song with just voice and piano, and I am the happiest. I know there were other instruments here, but it was still very simple in its entirety. 👏👏👏🌹🌹🌹
This is a tearjerker for sure. New album is out April 28th!

Susanne Sundfør - 'leikara ljóð' (Official Lyric Video) Same album, worth a listen.
Wow 🥺🥹
I’ve been playing this album on repeat constantly since it came out. It was lovely to see someone else react to it for the first time 💜 I got goosebumps again
thank you for reacting to this amazing woman
I agree that Susanne's music is like the sound of heaven... And the whole Blòmi is a very "bright" album. But I would add that - if you listen to her song Mountaineers - then you will listen to the sound of galaxies exploding. The ending of that song of hers is just not human. The talent of this woman is surreal. Thanks for reacting to her songs!

Great song! Susanne's voice is like heavenly medicine. Alyosha's such a sweet song, very heart-warming. Did you listen to her collaboration with Royksopp, named "Stay awhile"? It's another masterpiece.
haha, i thought that the birds singing was in the video, but it was not. it would have been the perfect fit though, her social media was a lot about farming and sustainability lately.
Absolutely gorgeous song! ❤️
You two are beautiful people.
Mountaineers, please, by Susanne sundfor ❤❤❤❤
Next, "Leikara Lljóð" from her new album.
such a beautiful song and i'm very excited for the new album! anna von hausswolff AND eivor are both working on new material, too!

Susanne is such a gem! You should check out Gåte - Sjå attende for a completely different Norwegian female singer. You will love it! 😊
she drops the new album in late april, 28th if i'm not mistaken
Please react to the Norwegian group Mildfire with their music video Never Change :)
Very nice.
I think the only song of hers, that I have heard, was “Oblivion” from the motion picture of the same title. The only reason I knew of that was because of Floor doing a cover of it. Good to broaden my horizons. Very enjoyable. ❤️🤘🎸🎻🇦🇺
Oh my! The Thomas women just put out Smile. Mom sings too!❤
Hi Mike, Ginger, EPICA just released a new live video, for their beautiful ballad 'Rivers', together with the strings players from Apocalyptica, absolutely stunning performance EPICA feat. APOCALYPTICA - Rivers (Live At The AFAS LIVE)
I promise I really don’t wanna make you cry but I think Ginger will fail to hold back the tears on this one.
