Just finished boho braids for the first time. This is a daily occurrence to keep the hair fresh and not too matted!

Foam or musse makes it super sticky… water, downy mix or Cantu spray is better.

Depends on what kind of mousse you use tho. When I used tresseme it was sticky and made the hair hard, but the Lottabody and TGIN mousse held the curl without stickiness

Put fabric softener in a spray bottle and spray it on the loose hair. Adding water to synthetic hair is a NO NO

Most likely synthetic hair. I dont think human hair gets matted like this in that time period.

Another way to keep your goddess boxbraids fresh you can crushey*I think I spelled it wrong forgive me 😂* and then whenever the hair gets tangled you can cit it out and put more in without going through the process of redoing the syle.

How often do you have to do this? I'm trying to decide if I should just get some human hair to add to avoid the tangling. This is much cheaper, though 🤔

Almost everyday! I had this style and it can get tangled so fast. Adding human hair is better if you plan on leaving it in for a long period of time. You can even use old bundles to save money

@Kayla Thank you fr. @Stacie, that was my first question. But, having to do that everyday defeats my purpose of saving time and effort (& being lazy, lol). If gotta do all that, I might as well actually take care of my own hair. 😅 I like your human idea though. I'd love to know if that works better for you.

@@StacieGlowsI have boho locs/waterfall locs…tbh unless you do the whole head with human hair…synthetic hair rubbing against the human waves is what causes the matting. so if you can splurge I advice doing ALL HUMAN hair or commit to doing this everyday and maybe putting the waves in flexi rods like imma have to each night 😭🤣

@@missym877 I actually did my own boho braids a few months ago and this is definitely true! My braids are synthetic and the curls are human. I brush out the ends and add mousse or leave-in a few times a week. They lasted beautifully for almost two months. It's time to take them out now but they still look pretty good! I'll definitely look into doing my next set with all human hair.

@Kayla-eh5fb thank you! I'm thinking about getting some human hair to add on my next style. For me, the whole idea for these kind of styles is for it to be low maintenence. Having to comb it out every day (or even every other day) would get annoying and too tedious for me. It costs more but I think it's definitely worth it overall to add human hair.

Get a cheap human hair bundle and cut it off the weft, and crochet it in, much better than the synthetic. These styles for me are low maintenance, don't feel like doing all that everyday
