MAINE MOOSE in rut | Talking to Giants
Ойын-сауық
Late September through early October is the peak mating period for moose in Maine (the rut). During this time a man can interact with bulls by making calls imitating the sounds they make. The 3 main types of calling are; the cow call (bellow), bull grunt, and raking (usually done using a scapula or canoe paddle to imitate the sounds of a bulls antlers hitting brush and trees). This is a project I have long wanted to do and am looking forward to doing again.. #livpartner #themainewoods #moosehunting

Several years ago, in Estes Park, Colorado, during the elk rut, I was walking down a trail in the mostly dark and sensed something behind me. At first look, I saw nothing. But then looking again, there was an elk following me about two feet behind (and two feet up). What to do? Keep walking. It followed me for about 100 yards then turned off into some bushes and stated nibbling. I have no idea what it was thinking.

Great video. Can't believe you got that close. Awesome drone footage too. Thanks for sharing.
It is so enthralling to see these close up in the wild. I find it interesting how different the antlers are from bull to bull. Thank you!

When you were having the moose stand-off, how far away were you? Gracie not there? When you were making sounds, what effect were you going for? Just get him curious? Nice video.
Corey that was some amazing footage, the fall colors and a lot of bulls. Just how close were you to the one at the 1345 mark? I thought I saw you getting ready to wipe the snot off his nose. Very nice job, thanks for taking us along. Stay safe my friend. 🙏🙏

Moose in the RUT leave it in the wood 🪵. The gravy is NO GOOD either . Might get luck 🍀 with a 6 pts or less for meat 🥩. Take a dry cow for meat 🥩 be better . A lot off peoples like there horns soup 🍲 I guess . I see there 32894moose tags for 709 this fall .
