I’ve always thought ODST’s Overture theme was beautiful! It’s still is, so special compared to the rest. Truly captures the somberness and humanity’s desperation in the Human Covenant war.

You have to remember that Marty recorded a lot of that music in 2000 and 2001 and sound mixing has improved significantly since then plus after the massive success of the first game, Bungie and 343 were able to have bigger orchestras so there are less synth elements as time went on. For example, if you listen to a lot of the music in Series 1 of Doctor Who with Chris Eccleston, a lot of Murray Gold's music was more synthesiser and barely any orchestral bombasticness that became more prevalent during the David Tennant and Matt Smith eras of the show in later years.

If halo 5 had a different person directing the campaign it would have actually turned out pretty good, considering halo 5 is one of the best halos when it comes to multiplayer

@@slimesoup7944 From the gameplay I've seen the only good thing about it was warzone, that mode looked fun. But personally I despise the artstyle and the guns/effects sound "wet" (hard to find a word for it) like they lack a punch, or they all have suppressors on them or something. Put the warzone mode in halo 3 or Reach and It'd be golden.

No one really talks about the Halo 4 theme. I think it's genius. The almost complete lack of instruments and mainly only vocals captures the true feeling of loneliness, as you look on the main menu and it's nothing but a vast void with debris. Just Master Chief and Cortana. No one else besides themselves floating in the emptiness of space

i absolutely love halo 4s the most outside of the bungie made games. Halo 3, ODST & 4 are the absolute best. 4 is as you say the loneliness of conveys. Not only that but the more digital elements in the tracks directly correlate with the fact you’re fighting digital essence within a shell. It just hits different!

ODST’s music/gameplay truly reflects that all you got is your gun, guts, and plenty of covenant. Damn that was such a sad game, but also a banger. My favorite overall, but they’re all good

i love how halo 2's guitar riff matches so well with CE's theme

Halo 2 will always and forever be my favorite game of all time, don't even have to think about it.

Admittedly, Halo 3's starting Choir was debatably the best one.

I needed to be born in the early 2000 to appreciate this masterpieces.

This is easily the most recognizable and nostalgic theme song in gaming history. It’s like a gamers anthem. No matter what halo someone started on this song sticks in your head forever. Truly a masterpiece

I feel its the end of mc (either he dies or retires at the end of infinites story) because lets face it steve downes (master chiefs va) is 70 and cant voice him forever (if you hear his voice from halo 4 5 and infinite so far his voice gets better but in infinites his voice sounds off posisbly from age) and i doubt due to how iconic his voice is microsoft wouldnt dare try to go on without him

Reach is near and dear to my heart. Its incredible the kind of emotion music can carry, especially when mixed with nostalgia. I've got Reach's whole soundtrack saved on my Spotify. I get chills too.

Even though I haven’t played the Bungie games, I still love Halo and their music. I think Halo Infinite is a way to start fresh with 343 and hopefully this leads us down the right path.

19:13-19:49 is just pure Halo to me. If someone were to ask “what does halo sound like” that is what I would show them.

I never realized they wove John's theme (117 from Halo 4) in the Halo 5 theme. Makes me appreciate it more. It also makes me wish they would include 117 more in other games with John. Hopefully it's in Halo: Infinite.

I have played Halo 3 for the first time recently, but the goosebumps when the 7:32 comes in as hard as Halo Reach themes. And Halo Reach was my 2nd Halo, I got it for about 8 years...

Halo: Reach is my personal favorite soundtrack. Such a huge departure from the first mainline games. You knew you were about to play something special and at the same time it was gonna be special. I see why so many people wanted another. Hell even to this day I say they should bring Noble 6 back(doesn't have to be the same guy, just in the same theme of sacrifice.)

I would absolutely enjoy another game with the same premise though, or even 6 but before he joined Noble. As long as what they do doesn't undermine Reach which will always hold a special place In my soul.

Reach is the Super Smash Bro’s. Brawl of Halo.

Can we all agree that while every single version is epic in its own right, that halo 3’s piano part hits the hardest for those that played each game of the original trilogy upon their release?

The most impressive thing is... the music is telling us the story. I get an awful tingle with Infinite one because we have male and female choruses, which if I noticed correctly, only there is a mix on the 3rd one. Feels to me like "cortana and MC speaking for the last time" on infinite. Plus the rythm of the song is... interesting that shows the arc is coming to an end. I can't describe it other way.

The HALO 4 soundtrack gives me strong Avatar vibes, as in the movie by James Cameron

Had the blessed pleasure of driving, then hiking through Oregon and California's wilderness & parks in 2018. Some of my fondest memories were hiking the canyons, rock formations and caves of Pinnacles National Park, Soledad - San Benito County, CA...while playing the "HALO: Reach" soundtrack through my headphones and video recording the trip. 'Epic feelz' almost doesn't do the description justice.

Same. As well as One Final Effort for Halo 3. I get the Warthog Run is where people get the feels, but One Final Effort is where all the pieces for the Warthog Run come from and in a beautiful piano piece that I would have learned had I gone for piano instead of guitar.
