Thank you! Great job! I drove floats in MSEP (we called it ELP - Electric Light Parade) for five years in the 80s - it's a nice trip down memory lane to watch it occasionally. This is the best quality video I've seen!

Thank you! I went there in 91 and before and this is the version I have always had in my head. When I was a Cast Member starting in 98 they had the Spectromagic parade and those clowns always creeped me out. It was nice to welcome the MSEP back a year or so later, but they had changed the opening announcement, so I always thought I probably just remembered it wrong. Thanks again!

are you still workingthere? I went to WDW in '02 and Saw Spectromagic in '96 & 2002, didn't care for it either time. saw the Main Street Electrical Parade in ''99 and the floats looked way nicer than they did when I saw the same floats in California in '91 (ironically only a few short weeks before this version closed and moved to Paris)

learned something interesting the other day from Don Dorsey. the reason we hear the closing announcement so frequently in this version is because Florida didn't have the same float tracking system that California did.

Yeah, the one here in Disney World was outdated when in Japan used the California version and Paris and Hong Kong also use the California version as well Disney World also updated their audio tracking system to sound like the one in California before they premiered the festival of fantasy

I like this older version of the soundtrack more than the newer one. They added kind of a 'pop' sound to the newer soundtrack which is not as good.

Yes, I did put some audio dubbing into this. Some of the themes were lost in this video recording, so I wanted to make them more prominent. You are correct in that Small World is out of snyc. It just wouldn't match correctly no matter how hard I tried, so I did the best I could.

for 10 years this was the best we had of the WDW announcement, and now finally we have the studio one!

Your ears are correct...the vocoder was recorded from scratch, as the chords are different than Disneyland's for "Walt Disney World proudly presents" all the way to "imagination."

Walt Magicland The entire opening is played on different chords. This one is higher while Disneyland's is lower

your video is SO good, thast i showed it to a freind who has done various mixes of the parade, andd the audio of the opening is so good,he's going to make it the opening announcement for his next Walt Disney World MSEP mix

Wow.. Thank you! I wish I could go back in time and get an even more complete version of it filmed from different angles. At the time I guess I thought that it would be around forever. I love SpectroMagic, but I thought the original version of the the MSEP was incredible. The original soundtrack was so mesmerizing and several notches above the one they are using now.

So they moved the floats from Walt Disney world in 1991 and send them to disneyland Paris in 1992

See there are key differences between this original and the California Disneyland original! This one has no propellers on the fire flys, DL does, this one has a flashing smoke stack on Casey junior engin, and a moving headlamp, DL does not! Nice vid or footage!

I like the soundtrack than the other one

The 1977-1992 Version of the Magic Kingdom MSEP is much better than the 1999-2001 and 2010-2016 version

Actually the parade closed on September 14th 1991, because those floats were send to France for the opening of EuroDisneyland on April 1992.

the reason Small World got removed was because of budget cuts. Paris must've done something to Elliott to give hime the look you saw but i can confirm with the exception of the Pleasure Island,Dwarf Mine & Swan units, all the other floats were from Florida.

:46 that's pretty smooth audio editing you picked up the 2nd loop right exactly where rhe 1st loop ended.

I guess this was right before Spectromagic premiered? I was there in October of that year!

ok it MIGHT be my ears but it sounds like when they vocoded the openiing, it's as though they recorded this one ebtierly from scratch listen to the word "imagination and then listen to the Disneyland version, this one sounds slightly different

And the reason why I didn't seen the version of the parade in paris is that I never been to Paris! I'm an American. And yes I was talking about elliot the dragon in the Disneyland Paris version

i agree! SO WHAT if the soundtrack wasn't ALL 2-beat tempo (which is why DCA/MK changed to the Dreamlights soundtrack.

Unfortunately, I missed the closing announcement in this video recording. I was afraid the camera battery was running out and I didn't get the full ending. Darn.

it sure is interesting how much more frequent the closing announcement /fanfare were heard in this version compared to both times the Disneyland version played WDW

i showed one of my freinds (and fellow youtuber "mastromjm") your video and we both think that the quality of the intro is perfect enough top finally be able to put together a fan-made soundtrack for the Original WDW MSEP check out his channel he's already put a view soundtracks together.

I'm doing a countdown if days left till the parades return at Disneyland. who's watching this on the last few days till the 20th???

well ever float except for the Eagle. Small World stayed in the pa rade for about a year in Paris then was removed for budgetary reasons.

Was that Alice in Wonderland atop the mushroom? I wish I could tell what she was saying, although I'm sure her spiel was pretty standard. I worked at Astroworld in Houston for a season back in the 1990s, on the railroad. We had a standard spiel, which I embellished a bit. We always used to compare our salaries to Disney's, which were about twice as much. Great experience.

And another thing the swans float didn't come from Florida... It came from the original Tokyo disneyland electrical parade

Great Memories. Say Does ANYONE OUT THERE Have The Floats from The Fox & The Hound. They Were also In The Electrical Parade About the same time. Let me Know. Been Looking For That.

yeah it'll be thjere for a while. (at least until they run out salvagable parts from the Spectromagic floats asb that's tje only way thefloats are surviving.

Man, I just hope Hong Kong Disneyland one day gets the parade back in operation (if not, I hope they send the floats over to Shanghai Disneyland so they can be used), it hurts to me knowing that the floats are just there in boxes accumulating dust while the california one has been only in hiatus from '96 to '99

The Indigo Bros. Hong Kong DisneyLand has never Run the Main Street Electrical Parade. Only 1 of the 3 Disney Parks in Asia has run the Parade, and that's Tokyo DisneyLand

@Danny Eyheralde why did the it's a small world unit got removed? That would leave elliot the dragon to be the final float in the parade! And I know I didn't see this version in Paris but Elliot's face looked kinda creepy! It's like his mouth and chin gotten skinny and not fat a chubby!

Danny Eyheralde It wasn't "Borrowed." The DisneyLand version has been EVERYWHERE. DisneyLand, then The Streets of NYC, Then Magic Kingdom, then DCA, then Magic Kingdom AGAIN, and now they're heading back to DisneyLand

Yes. This was April 1991. SpectroMagic premiered in October that year.

From 2010 to 2016 this parade was called main street electrical parade only the Casey Junior part had it at Disney’s electrical parade maybe they were too lazy or didn’t have the time to change the text
