what was that mallet you used at the very end? Was that a Meinl mallet?

These are Mallets special for gongs (not Meinl) with a special removable handle. The last one is a 3cm diameter, the smallest one is 1,5cm and produces an amazing whale chant. Yes but not less than 70cm, it's the minimum for Terra friction mallet.

Love that it almost sounds like guitar feedback

Hello Matt, for the friction Terra diameter 7 cm with a 5mm stem, the handle is this one : www.mandalia-music.com/produit/la-poignee-pour-tiges-5-mm/ For the smallest friction at the end, the stem is thiner 3mm so I used this handle : www.mandalia-music.com/produit/la-poignee-pour-tige-fine-3mm/

Is it possible to use those friction mallets in a 60cm gong?

I'm wondering is there any procedure to prepare that rubber ball? Because I tried certain kind of rubber ball but none of them can let the gong vibrate and make those ambient sounds. What kind of rubber ball will recommend? Thanks a lot.

Bonjour, Vous indiquez ci-dessous que la mailloche la plus grande fait 3 cm... je pense qu'il y a une erreur. Elle semble plus grosse. La poignée change-t-elle vraiment quelque chose niveau son ?

Bonsoir Yann, je joue la mailloche diamètre 7cm au début puis la petite 3cm à la fin. Oui la poignée change bcp de chose : la note et la facilité de jeu :)

@@octave.sacree Oui il faut jouer plus en douceur avec les silicones, le son vient progressivement et pas très vite comme avec les caoutchoucs avec poignée.
