These Maigret stories are such a delight! I'd not heard of them until this channel. Thank you for bringing them to light!

I don’t know which I like best: the stories or the music accompanying the intro and close.

The way these dramas are formed makes them ideal for late night, on the verge of sleep, ideal offerings. They work within the way the late night brain works. Interesting music change . Also " late night" feel to it. Certainly not thee glare of daytime atmosphere. Love these dramatisations, on whichever plarform they are offered. A french ethnically derived way of unfolding the story and denouement!

These Maigret adaptations are great but this particular story is just about the most ridiculous ' detective ' plot i have ever heard.

Maigret became very popular and Simenon discovered he could write a Maigret in 6 days and make money without too much effort. The quality of the stories subsequently declined. Simenon was a fascinating character with a rather curious and ultimately tragic private life .
