For me, this coaster is intriguing not because the ride will be so great but because it kind of determines the fate of this ride model. If this has the same problems as Big Dipper, I don't really see any park choosing this over the RMC version going forward.

Well RMC currently doesn’t offer a launched variant, which these are, so there’s still very much a reason to buy them.

@@ItsSiebay But there’s nothing preventing a launched version of a Raptor. They already use magnetic brakes so there’s functionally little difference between those and mounting stators instead of permanent magnets.

Agreed that it will determine the fate of that model. However, I think the direct competitor is not an RMC Raptor, but other models not that extreme. Maybe rides like Intamin's Juvelen or if you want inversions Vekoma's Suspended Thrill Coaster like Hals über Kopf or a Gerstlauer Infinity. The Raptors are one step up and not for everyone.

well the issue with that is that a lot of gp despise the rmc raptor restraints. however everyone who has ridden a hot racer hasn’t complained about the restraints at all. that’s a massive thing parks care about. hot racers are more gp friendly which is what parks would rather have

If this coaster was an Intamin blitz instead of a hot racer, even with an exactly similar layout, it would have much more attention amongst enthusiasths

as you mentioned, mahuka means "escape" in hawaiian. there's a famous heiau (hawaiian temple) in the north shore of oʻahu called "puʻu o mahuka" which means "hill of escape", and in myth, was where the goddess of fire and volcanos pele escaped to the next island molokaʻi. i REALLY hope this theme is incorporated into mahuka, it'd be awesome to see a respectful take on this hawaiian myth, me thinks. and like c'mon, what's cooler than a fiery goddess leaping over a whole island? that's pretty damn cool

Awesome first inversion. I love the inverted top hat on the Mr. Freeze clones and have long thought it’d be great to see more of that element. Cherry on top to have the regular top hat go across the top! Stunning!

3:32 The reason that Walibi Holland is getting an RMC is because the higher ups have more free control over their investments. It also explains why Loup Garou isnt RMCed yet, and the differences in theming. The fact that theyre getting 2 was a requirement from CDA to add more attractions for families.

It really looks heavily inspired by it. With good theming (and hopefully less shaking) this could be a surprise gem of a ride.

If you look at the photo (4:20) of the track you share it is in fact *two* railes covered by a plastic/vinyl like cover. It's not really a single rail even though they call it one. It's two smaller railes joined by a larger metal structure that is then covered to look similar as RMC track.

Actually at 4:47 will be a triple down, not a double down! The fanmade animation that you show has been done before the official layout release. Couckay made another one after the release which is closer to the reality.

Looks fun and targeted to an audience that likes to take the next steps to more thrilling coasters. It really seems to be designed to work very well with the theming for a better overall experience, so I hope they get everything finished before opening. The "top hat" with two tracks looks really nice!

It's such a nice park, not the biggest in france but for the past ten years, it's only been great, no failure in choices, looks like it's going to be good tho. Hope the ride isnt too shaky tho, because it's so well targeted

The multilaunch coasters generally seem to be pretty stable. I was on Velocicoaster last year, and while it was a little shaky, it wasn’t uncomfortable and it didn’t have that buzzing sensation

I thought the same thing. Because he said “Intamin has shown over the years that you don’t need to have impressive stats to have a great ride” all while showing Hagrids then Big Bear Mountain. Maybe he edited it and chose those clips. We know it’s Taylor and he knows his sh*t, so we can give him a pass on this one!

Guess what, an RMC single rail...is still two rails. You have a set of wheels riding on each side of the "main rail", each on a rail, thats attached. The Intamin single rail is no different, except that each side is rounded and not squared off. The two rails are still attached, just like an RMC. Its like calling a monorail, a monorail, when it technically isnt, especially since there are 4 sets of wheels on a monorail.

I'm surprised they didn't go with RMC

I'm more surprised that Walibi Holland is going RMC, it's only a couple hour drive from Walibi RA to Intamin headquarters meanwhile RMC would have to be shipped from the US by cargo ship, so the cost difference for a cheaper model like hotracer/raptor is huge just by shipping costs alone.

The difference between the RMC and the Intamin single rail is that the RMC one is cubed while the Intamin one is circular. As simple as that!

Is it just me thinking that single rail would work quite well as an invert (with 2 seater rows) 🤷

I feel that it’s a missed opportunity in several ways. First, I don’t like the “lap” nature of the top hat structure. I rather see the train traveling the opposite way the second time. Think it would be and look more interesting. Secondly, I think such a theme needs a tunnel of some sort. Either under a pathway or through a temple…something. As pictured it seems so close to perfect but they didn’t quite take it all the way which is a bit disappointing.

The whole point of a single rail coaster (modern definition) is the visual spectacle, RMC still has two rails they're just square and they have a single piece of metal welded on top which makes it look like a solid beam so in that sense Intamin fails. But really, Caripro bat flyers are the true single rails but who really cares. "Wing coaster" doesn't even really mean anything either when you get down to it.

What?? Why go for two different companies for similar ride models?

This is gonna be europe’s first single rail coaster but the new for 2025 single rail coaster at Walibi Holland is gonna be the first true single rail coaster in europe 😂😂

$11 million USD? That’s nothing for a coaster. Most new coasters are in the $20M-30M range. Hopefully this will come to the U.S. parks, specifically at Kings Island or Cedar Point!

Single rails sucks, no matter who the manufacturer,, jersey devil looks great but it not as smooth as you think,, I’ll just stick to my SL550,,
