Mahindra 3XO is determined to challenge the Tata Nexon’s domination in the Indian SUV segment. Genuine Review Mr.Sirish. at the end and overall package & daily usage - Nexon make sense as it has required useful features in price bracket. VENTILATED SEATS, COMFORT, MUSIC SYSTEM, MILEAGE, STEERING.

Low ground clearance, third class boot, low mileage, looks ugly interiors are ugly, Nexon has much better handeling, looks better, no ventilated seats in 3xo

Diesel and hybrid don't work together well. Plus hybrids are to reduce emissions and a diesel engine negates that.

I wish Ford had stayed back. For me the ecosport is still the benchmark in terms of handling, steering feedback and braking. It's composure is rock solid and unbeatable in spite of it being the oldest one among its competitors. Nice review BTW.

1 point most people overlook is the DPF situation… Tata Nexon uses a DPF+ LNT versus Mahindra used DPF+Adblue dosing system…. I think Mahindra system is much more reliable over the life of the equipment with less hassle…. Technology wise Mahindra goes much forward….

Petrol engines are too silent. You can't feel connected with the car. There are no vibrations to feel connected with the car. How many times I have seen drivers pressing the throttle like crazy on speed brakers thinking the car will move, but in reality their car is in neutral or they are still holding the clutch enough to not let it move, but how would they realize their mistake when they can't even hear the engine from inside?

i think mahindra calling it the baby xuv700 .. its design is suppose to be like a mini xuv700 .. also altroz has more interior space than nexon wonder if a raised version of altroz would make nexon obsolete .. not sure

Altroz is on a completely different platform to Nexon. I guess the next gen Nexon will get Altroz’s ALFA architecture. Who knows

@@madanmohan3541 read the team bhp review which talks about 3xo steering not so good in terms of driver feedback. It can be suitable for sedate drivers like you but not for enthusiastic
How is the driving dynamics of the 3xo when compared to the Taigun ? On par? I feel the VAG twins drive better. The 3xO and the 1 litre Taigun/Kushaq can be compared. I hope you do a comparison on them too.
From the front and rear nexon looks like a concept car but from the side it looks old because tata has facelifted nexon and the body structure is same and one more thing about tata cars is from inside the visibility is not really good specially from the rear seat because of their concept car like design. Tata punch owner here really happy with my car.

3XO looks awesome to me... Others are just shrinking the lights into a line or a dot with LED... Headlights should be a proper component of the face afterall they are the eyes ... It makes the aesthetic 😊

Great product from Mahindra and will definitely be a good competitor to Nexon and others in the segment. But Cutting down on practical features like ventilated seats might hurt sales as ventilated seats are a becoming a popular comfort feature especially for daily office goers!

@@evoIndia That notch on the cladding is to maintain the boxy design aesthetic.. without that the circular cladding wouldn't go well with it... Look at the Thar's back rear cladding for example
Hey sirish. Off topic but I want to hear your take on buying used 2014 Q3 quattro 2.0 diesel auto ? Will it be problematic ? how are the service costs for it if you have the info ? I'm leaning towards it because the new car market has gone insane where 4m suv costs upto 15-17 lakhs.

I think 3XO looks better.. I'm kinda bored of tata's design now. From punch to safari every car looks same. On the other hand 3XO has a very unique agressive look. The front and the rear looks are really cool.

By the way amazing review, you tell about the flaws or misses of a product really well which others miss out on, I wish you got the manual to drive, then we would have got to know the about tractibility of the engine.......

The front fascia styling of the 3XO seems to be inspired from the dakar going Pajero Evolution/L200/Pajerosport...? Pajerosport was sold in India. You might still see some plying on the roads.

Great to see a person who is having great knowledge about machines and attachment for machines. I am having Baleno with DDiS machine. I know the minus points of Maruti but loving Diesel and never get disappointed with Diesel machine. Shirish you need to discuss with all Manufacturer in India to keep Diesel alive. Nexon diesel vs 3XO diesel which one ll give more mileage?
Seats are smaller? Wha.?? Just take a screenshot of you sitting in the mahindra and then of you sitting in the tata. The camera angles are the same. You should easily be able to spot the smaller seats!

According to me xuv looks amazing from the back but from the front it looks - for the lack of a better word unfinished and desperate on the other hand nexon looks very mature in its design langauge - simple yet a perfect blend of futuristic and stylish.

Powerful petrol engine (130 BHP) not given in the lower variant of the 3XO. The luxury version of the Mahindra looks good but it will be a big hassle to keep them clean. Secondly the sunroof is really unnecessary edition to any car especially in India. We have filthy hot weather and dust all around us. It would be better if car manufacturers give the Indian customers Moonroof, it would much much better.

TBH Indian buyers are very adaptable. Plus If something different is there in their purchase , they will flaunt it to their peers. IMO Also, A moonroof is clearly better than a sunroof and much cheaper to produce.

I own NEXON DIESEL PURE MANUAL.(March 2024 purchase). Honestly, I did a lot of research in this segment. Safety and Diesel engine were my priority. So Brezza, Venue and Sonet were out ! Also,You can't seat 3 people in the backseat of venue and sonet, you can try it yourself. There is compromised leg space and underthigh support as well. I was left with XUV300 and Nexon. I have driven XUV300 so many times, but for its earlier avtar, only its diesel engine was the positive point. Except its top model, its all other models have no road presence, they look like a hatchbak from the front. XUV300 for some reasons, doesn't look like a SUV(tall)... If you ignore on paper dimensions, for visual appeal , I think Nexon (right from base model) 'looks' tallest in the segment. Also, you can hardly differentiate Nexon's base and top model from front and rear. In addition, I liked Nexon's road presence more than 300's. Coming to nexon diesel engine, its powerful, its agile, its super fuel efficient, and with that sports mode, it becomes a rocket...! So in terms of features, looks, space, road presence, engine, fuel efficiency, driving dynamics, Nexon is the best pick (even after this belated XUV3XO facelift) over any other car in the segment. (For TATA haters - My nearest TATA service centre offers great service and customer support.) Thank you...!!!

At the time when every other car manufacturer is following the trend of splitting th headlight the 3xo headlight looks like how it is supposed to be. Every car looks same nowadays and Mahindra stands out by not following the same trend
Some cosmetic things can be done on the 3xo to make it beautiful. A small black vinyl sticker which flows into the fender from the headlight unit. A ducktail/bill spoiler to the rear might also help. I'd prefer a rear door spare tyre carrier like on the Ecosport. I care less for the connected tail lights. A led light strip can be incorporated into the spare wheel cover.. just maybe..The Kerala boys will find a way.
Shirish nobody is interested in diesel 3xO , after seeing very low milage in turbo petrol mojority don't want to see any petrol review or drive . Instead diesel makes more sense in 3xO .

3XO front looks like 🤮. Old front looked much better. Should've done only back part. Also boot space issue should've been resolved as both cars are almost same size. For me, ADAS, sunroof are secondary features. Engine wise I will always prefer Mahindra. Suspension wise Nexon proves much better value. Infotainment looks more premium in Nexon top variants if you compare.

Suspension of 3XO is one of its big strengths
Mahindra has put a cat among pigeons and so was 3OO. But isn’t its fair to make it a proper cat and compete it with other real cats like Cretas/Seltos etc. Else I consider this product as muscle SUV in it’s segment… just like Seltos in it’s segment; while for most… Nexon fits the bill for better soft road SUVing. For petrol comparo… didn’t you guys get a better color for Nexon… it looks like a Brinjal…

The Upcoming ScorpioX (pik up) should come with 185 - 210 bhp and 480 - 520 Nm of torque, this is just my personal opinion what you guys think? Can Mahindra's 2.2 Mhawk produce this amount of power? Or They simply need to develope a new engine? Ofcourse that doesn't sound realistic, still what are your thoughts please do comment

I’m sure it can be pushed to 190bhp and 450Nm. It needs the torque more than the power to be able to lug all the loads a pick up will be put through especially in global markets

You said best diesel, where is venue? It's diesel engine is smoother than tata Nexon petrol engine.
A best car. I took the test drive today. I was in doubt as daksh agnihotri., a you tuber mentioned that clutch travels long. But a big no. When I sit and drive I never feel anything wrong about clutch. My height is 5.6 hai and also did not feel any need of dead paddle. Though u can check. What I feel that i was lost in driving pleasure. And design go to showroom and feel it. I like it. I have derived nexon and only then I started to have feeling these csuvs. But after driving 3xo, nexon like a dull car. I was waiting for cng nexon, but after driving 3xo, I know about driving pleasur, if u can afford buy it u will not regret. Nexon us dull in first and second gear but xuv 3xo is not. It's just a marvelously piece of mechanical engineering team of mahindra for those who don't have a big budgets. Suspension bhi awesome hai. I booked it.
