She was understanding him though and was denied the chance to explain her side, then badly influenced by Rachel (who convinced her accepting gays means accepting they are born gay, and so since Naminah differed she was influenced into believing she tolerates gays because she did not want an argument) and was then just ganged up on when they tried to make up. Dose everyone just ignore this? It isn't right for someone to not let someone else express themselves completely because he cut her off when she said "could you try to not be gay?" When I am certain she would have used the argument to show him she cannot stop being Christian, that her being Christian and him being gay is a choice but she accepts him regardless to come and eat dinner at her table. It also isn't right for someone else to badly influence someone, especially as a Christian! Rachel should've quoted John 15:10-17, it would have diffused the whole thing to help Manher realize his friend can accept him because the Bible tells us to love one another. Regardless of the Bible telling us to judge people for what they do (in a righteous way only) and that there is right or wrong, we are also told to love one another and not be hateful or rage at each other. So the idea that Christians hate gays is so inaccurate and if you know any Christians like that, they are being misled. Naminah was not condescending, she was simply trying to avoid conflict while she herself could not find the right words to express what she meant.

I wanted to say something about it too. Because no where in our genes is there a "gay, bi, les, trans, queer" gene. I want it known I am not against LGBTQA+ community or other people having a different sexuality, but please understand you are not born that way. It is a choice you choose for yourself, a behavior that you've adopted as part of who you are and there is no shame there. But please do not go believing that people are born gay, that is an inaccurate statement as much as saying "she was born Christian" is an inaccurate statement. Naminah was trying to help him see the way she saw it while letting him know she still accepts him. Which is possible as a Christian because Jesus teaches us to love one another as if we are brothers and sisters. To be kind and respectful to each other. What Rachel said doesn't go against the being kind to each other, but it dose go against years of research and genealogy. If I had to rate her, considering the way she took the context of the Bible out of context and midled Naminah, I'd give her 2/5 buthole. I am happy to see there are others who will speak up for Naminah, and happy I'm not the only one seeing this insanity unfold as insanity rather then normal for a person to flip out on someone like that. Naminah was not the problem yet every comment hates her because she is Christian and making a choice that is better for her when she witnessed him rejecting her beliefs even though she accepted him as he is. I cannot understand people anymore, everything that is wrong is now seen as right and the dark is slowly coming over is. Be safe my brother and sister, remember Jesus loves us. 🙏 ❤

Delusional. That's a lie. People choose who they love everyday. It's called dating, having preferences, sexuality, standards, etc. To equate being homosexual to be born an ethnicity, is like an owl 🦉 saying to the duck 🦆, I didn't choose to be an owl. There are different species of birds, cats, snakes, and HUMAN, etc. SEXUALITY IS AND SHOULD REMAIN AN ADULT CHOICE. PEOPLE NEED TO STOP LYING AND EXPECTING OTHERS TO. It confuses, exploits, and stresses children, who have so much to learn besides sex. There is more to life. Homosexuality might as well be a religion, because all it is is a belief. No one should have to agree with your beliefs.

My conservative, christian bf's best friend is trans, he also became an officiant to wed a cis woman and Trans woman to each other. He religiously does not agree with gay marriage from a religious standpoint but understands how laws and government and economics operate and believes gay people should be able to marry since marriage isn't a religious institution in the United States.... it's a legal union with drastic economic benefits. Regardless of my personal beliefs and my boyfriend's beliefs, Rachel really did a good job explaining about the love of Christ and how Jesus wouldn't have turned Maher away. I am Christian and I love my LGTBQ friends as I would love myself. I am happy they are able to live their life as the way they came into this world would deem so!

You seem like a good person so I’m sure this wasn’t intentional, but calling someone’s sexuality a “lifestyle” is harmful. It’s not a “lifestyle”, they are just living their lives as who they are. It asserts the idea that it’s a choice, thus invalidating the existence of the LGBTQIA+ community because it implies that they are just straight people choosing to live their life “differently”.

This was just a messy situation, but religion is very sacred to some people and everyone was raised and taught different. It is all a matter of opinion so I think this was best for them, but I don’t think someone should compromise their beliefs for a relationship. If she believes in something, just let her be and let her. We all have our beliefs in things that we won’t change for anything.

I completely agree with you!! This was really hard to watch & comprehend. As a Christian, we are called to love one another and just because I don’t agree with one’s lifestyle doesn’t mean I’m going to stop being friends with them. At the end of the day, that’s a conversation between that person and God. It doesn’t have anything to do with me

She really lost it when I defended me and my exgf's relationship. I remember she even prayed over me and used the Holy Water. After that, I never had one again.
