Already Shankara Madam exists in Chitarakulam North Street, Mylapore. This trust, can plan to build the proposed temple for Periyava, in the place we're he used to visit during his life time, after getting due permissions from Kanchipuram. This can reduce the budget and also the burden on the organizers. This is my humble opinion about the proposal.Thank you. Periyava Pugal Onguga.

In Kashmir also mahaperiyava manimandapam going to come to uplift our sanatana Dharma. There are not that much Hindu temple everything got demolished. So we need a strong support from everyone for that also. Periyava temple with pattashala is going to come. It will be helpful for Kashmir living pandits and Hindus..and our pride soldiers and their families...

During an interaction with New Jersey Mani mandapam people, Sri Kanchi Acharya has said that he is not usually supportive of the idea of New temples but prefer our ancient, uncared temples be cared for maintenance and pooja. NJ Mani mandapam is an exception for devotees abroad. With Orirukkai manimandapam, should be supported for further devepment, pooja and maintenance. Assisting veda phatasalas would be more appropriate and close to the wishes of Maha Periyava.

Yes, same thought is prevailing here. Another bitter truth is, maha periyava won't encourage brahmins to settle at abroad (even as per our dharma shastra, if a brahmin going out of seashore, will not beconsidered as brahmin. Also, no prayachitham is there to clear that dosham) But, Manimandapam was constructed at NJ.

Yes, I too read that Mahaperiyava preferred the maintenance/puja and care of the existing temples. Moreover there is an upcoming temple for Mahaperiyava in Nanganallur, Chennai, and, many like me have made contributions.

True. I am not against new temples but the need of the hour is to provide free education and hospital facilities to Hindus. (Brahmins and FCs are the most affected by the TN govt policies both present and past). We should also encourage Hindus to do more business. Today even in Mylapore muslims have encroached and despite their dictum Hindus go to their shop only

Please note and understand that the MOOT question here is the construction of an exclusive temple only for His Holiness Periyaval fully neglecting the His holiness Adi Sankara's statue , who is the Supreme GURU of His Holiness Periyaval. H. H. Periyaval's idol can be installed beside AdiSankara's.

Adi Sankara's BAJA GOVINDAM (given by adi Sankara himself) made me to understand more about the Advaitha. We ALWAYS regard Adi Sankara as our very beloved TEACHER. Besides prostrating Adi Sankara, we prostrate the other pontiffs of Kanchi, Sringeri, ... It was adi Sankara who brought back Hinduism in India ,in the 8th century , when Hinduism was attacked by Buddhism, etc.,

Actually the temple should be for Aadhi Shankara..Periyavaa sannadhi also can be there.Sringeri mutt is an example,where successive mutt heads statues are erected in a spacious mantap.

At this juncture, we have a thinking whether all the ardent devotees of His Holiness Sri. Jeyandra Saraswathi , etc., (the successor pontiff of Periyaval) may put forth a request of constructing an exclusive temple for Sri. Jeyandrar swamy.

I am glad about the temple initiative, but when there is a cost concern, why should it be in Mylapore near Kapaleeswarar temple? Why not 20km away from Mylapore where there are places for half the price? Mylapore is already home to various temples. Also, renovating existing temples & Veda pada saalais would have been a much nobler and divine deed, as per Periyava's wish. Secondly, there are not many temples for Adi Sankarar, on whose lineage we have the great Gurus of today. The Matam concept was conceived by Sri Adi Sankarar and I wish He deserves many a temples for today's generation to have awareness. Jai Sri Sankara!!!

There is enough space in Kamakshi Amman temple in Srinivas avenue of Greeneays road . You can put up a Sannidhi there .

There was Sankara Madam in Adam street Mylapore. Why not construct the temple there? Land cost may be avoided...

Whole world is finally kind of begging for money. Built a big temple not in congested area, built a very big temple of periava in a new non-congested area, with spacious shopping, parking etc. Similar to spacious Thanjavur temple. Even if the whole world is given still people beg for something.
