Careful, the problem with chess is that computers are capable of reviewing your game and telling you exactly how bad you are at the game. It's an acquired taste to be sure.

Anyone within a couple hundred rating points of someone else has some chance of beating them, it's how the elo system works. Even if you're the better player and playing better, there will now and then always be some mistake or some attack that looked great but the other person accidentally found a great counter to. People shouldn't be at all surprised when Carlsen loses to a 2700 or a 2600, he even lost to Judith Polgar in a park game. If chess had hundreds of millions of dollars in it then yes, things like anal communication devices would be on the cards. There just isn't the sort of money in chess where that type of thing would make any sense.

sounds to me like he's running a multitasker/ oscillating tool. and yes if you're making all your cuts with that tool, it can easily take 8 weeks.
