The main advantage of a boat like this is you can enjoy it in almost any water condition.

The ones featured are probably the top of the range ones so probably close to 5 million USD. Toys for the 1%ers I am afraid :)

I believe the 80s are fitted with at least 2x2600hp. MTUs, maybe even 2x3500hp Rolls Royce diesels.

That would be oh so smooth out to Catalina.

You can find a 110mph boat for much less money than you'd pay for a Magnum 80.

Sayo Sagami magnum 80 vs nor-tech 80 who will rule? The Nor-Tech is much faster than the Magnum because it weighs 20,000lbs less and has a twin-stepped hull. Top speed is 60kn whereas the Magnum's top speed is around 50kn. In rough seas over say 8'-10' the Magnum rules.

Everett Cox Magnum will run 70mph with the big power option. They are comparable speed wise.

Website says 2600hp diesels runs 52 knots which is almost 60mph. Is there a higher HP option? The Nortech will run almost 70mph with 1900hp diesels. It will take at least 3500hp diesels for the Magnum to run that fast because it's so much heavier and runs a non-stepped hull. If you want more speed I would say run the 2600s and put a 3000hp turbine between them. I think you would get close to 60 knots like that.

Weight kills the speed but smooths out that big water. Interesting tradeoffs.

I think a canopy would be an option. The Gulf Stream and the Med can get pretty rough with 8-10' seas and driving rain. Get the canopy.

Most Magnums can be fitted with canopies that can be stored below decks.
