i have the m16 912, absolutely love it. I was trained in it and purchased it at 300hrs. have flown from the east coast to west coast, and up through northern australia. flew the m16 recently on a solo 4 month camping trip without any issues.

Yes, absolutely. Its an extremely valuable tool. Especially here in south africa with regards to stock theft.

I’m buying a Sportcopter M2 . Just waiting for final engine test with a different engine from Rotax 915. Considering AeroMomentum 140HP. Turbo. Going to be based in Wyoming. 5200ft.MSL. Density altitudes in summer 6500’ SportCopter sells to many Australian cattle stations. SportCopter has a full castor nosewheel so less problem with landing a little crabbed.

Where did you train to fly gyrocopter? How long and how much to train for pilot with gyros? Excellent explanation and I am interested 👍

Hi there, I suppose it depends what country you are from and the laws pertaining to training etc. I would say around 20 -50 hours to go solo depending on your age and skill level.

Was there a particular reason for choosing the Magni? I recently learned in the M16 and loved it, but am finding a variety of tandem machines for sale and would like to learn why people chose their specific model.

Yes, Magni has n good track record on reliability and stability for many years. That being said, there are some good alternatives out there. Best to fly them and see what you like best.

I did do and pass my academic helicopter 🚁 license, but did not proceed to the practical qualification since I don't feel comfortable in air turbulence and especially air pockets. ( over and above the cost of ownership). What is the feeling and reaction of the gyro in air pocket conditions? Maybe a gyro is an option again. Second question: many speak of safety. A client of mine was 1 of 7 friends who owned gyros. 5 was killed in accidents, so my client sold his. I also had an insurance broker friend who owned one, and had 3 accidents - but that is much attributable to pilot error. Can gyros then really be said to be safe with such statistics?

Hi Gerrit. Hoe gaan dit? Thanks for commenting...😀 If you dont feel comfortable in turbulance its best you dont fly😅. Gyros do handle turbulance very well though. I find it hard to believe the story of 5 out of 7 friends being killed in gyro accidents. Are you sure? But I suppose its possible . But I wont blame it on the gyro. Gyros are safe; period... Its human error and sometimes stupidity in most cases that cause accidents. As the saying goes: You get old pilots and you get bold pilots. But you dont get old bold pilots😄

Baie nice video. Insiggewend. Nog altyd nuuskierig. Hoe vergelyk n gyro in Turbulensie teenoor n ligte sport vliegtuig? As hy goed is in hoë wind behoort hy turbulensie soos n champ te vat. Want warm dae hier in Suid Afrika is darm maar glad nie lekker in n ligte vaste vlerk nie.

Aj, heeltemal reg. Gyros hanteer turbulensie ongelooflik goed agv die lae "wing loading" en ja, heelwat beter as 'n ligte vaste vlerk vliegtuig.
