I bought this vintage Magnatone lap steel (serial # 52109) in a pawn shop in Bakersfield California around 1977. You could tell it led a hard life and was heavily customized by somebody. It has a hand-made bridge that has a slot for a seventh string above high E that it had once upon a time and hole in the headstock where a tuner once went.. It has always had a fat full sound. A sound that inspired this cut.
