Magical Maine: Sunset Hike on Hermit Island
This may be one of my favorite hikes in Maine. It showcases all the things that make Maine special. During the off-season, the campground on Hermit Island closes, but the trails open up to the public (yes, solo adventure time!). I sometimes see people walking their dogs on the campground roads, but I've personally never seen another soul once I set out on the island trails (unless I brought that person with me haha). This is a little over 20 minutes from Bath, so about an hour from Portland, Maine. I highly recommend checking it out if you are in the Midcoast area. No crowds. No paid parking. Just Maine is all its magical glory....woods and ocean and rock formations that will blow your mind!
During the winter, that cold wind whips pretty harsh on the coast, so definitely bring something to cover your face, and layers as always :) totally worth it!

Hermit Island looks amazing. The views are so incredible. It was fun to see the kite surfer out on the water. You chose a beautiful day to be out on the island. The trails look fantastic. The light this time of the year, with the long shadows on the beach is so beautiful. I always enjoy stunning sunsets and you captured an outstanding sunset. It is so nice to see the reflection of the sun in the water. This truly was a fantastic video. Thank you, my friend for always sharing your amazing adventures.
