I think that undermines Chen’s play. Duke was outclassed in every way by a superior opponent, it really wasn’t about him “drawing hot,” he destabilized his mana, used cheap interaction and just beat him down like Delver does.

Of course it is. Because everyone kisses Reid Duke’s ass. Chen did nothing wrong - he made small talk with Reid afterwards. It’s just a game in the end. Like, would you have preferred Chen just bolting off camera? What fits your narrative of “good winner”?

Idk; maybe the part where he brought up that since his deck list was public it was a substantial reason he lost. Or maybe it’s the part where when you win, it doesn’t seem very respectful to all but force conversation, especially on such a high leverage match. Anyone kissing anyone else’s rear is beside the point. It’s either disrespectful or it’s not. Bolting off is also beside the point. You can bolt off respectfully and disrespectfully. If you think everyone sucks up to Reid, then you’ve probably seen a lot of gives of him; which means you could probably guess that he looks pretty darn uncomfortable. But sure. You go ahead and hang your hat on the idea that a guy who just lost a HUGE match wants to talk about how he lost for a reason that doesn’t really apply to the rest of the field.

Pretty sure Alexander's cards are all in moderate played condition given that he has to snap the corners each time he touches them 🤣. I'd go as far as saying heavy play or even damaged. He could have pack fresh mint to near mint cards and ruin every one's resale value after 1 tournament.
