i love how every hotline miami character has its own themes that represent their personality through the theme itself both in combat and in non combat situations (like the transitions of every chapter in their own houses) jacket has a very psychodelic ost in his house and an energetic ost in battle showing how decided is jacket to eliminate all of his oponents beard has charming and gentle ost in his bar or when resting with the rest of the ghost wolves, and unlike jacket his battle soundtracks arent really murder-inducing as jackets soundtracks are, they sound more strategic and encouraging the list goes and goes since there are a lot of characters in the hotline miami saga

It took me a while to figure out why I liked this song so much above the rest of the soundtrack, but I realized it has a tone that you find nowhere else in the game, or the first one. It's heroic. This isn't the selfish bloodshed that everyone else goes through. You're on a suicide mission, but it has to be done, and if wasn't you it would be someone else. Just this once, you are doing the right thing.

It really sounds tired, yet hopeful, like you are trudging through slowly but you are literally right near the end of the tunnel, but it also feels somewhat numb so to speak but also euphoric, like I just got injected with all the adrenaline in the world that it doesn't make me feel my own convictions until the action is done. The first part is how I felt as I experienced the story, the second part is how i experienced the gameplay. Hotline Miami really does make you feel like you're on psychedelics....

Obligatory Beard comment here but -- Casualties -- it really is his last stand, his way home; one last mission, just one more time he has to see people die. Just one more moment in this hellish place, and then he's free. And I really like that, in this music. It captures the feeling of being battered and nearly broken; nearly dead, but still alive, still fighting back, and carrying a thin spark of hope with you.

This song sums up the entire story of Beard's Unit in the Russo-American war. It sounds like the sweetest victory and the most crushing defeat at the same time. The Ghost Wolves unit all know that they're going to lose the war to the Russians, and that nothing can be done against it. However, while the outcome is inevitable, they'll keep fighting until the end of it, not necessarily to hold onto their slim chance of winning, but to at least see it out to the end. To survive. To see another day, without the worry of an ambush or a near-impossible suicide mission awaiting them right outside their doors. This song, to me, represents Beard's dedication to making it out alive. His determination to live in peace, and to live that simple luxurious dream to find that little convenience store, and put a little TV next to the register, and just sit there all day, relaxing.

It wasn't too long ago that I was in the front passenger seat of my mother's car with my dad passed out drunk in the back. We were driving home from visiting my grandmother. She was dying from organ failure and that was the last day I talked to her in person. She called on my birthday and we remembered all our fond memories but when I saw her next she'd be in a comatose state and I'd be to afraid to get near her. This is what played as I feel asleep on that trip home and so this song is sorta meaningful to me.

This fit perfectly for Casualties. Beard is tired, but he has to push through one last time, despite the fact that he knows it's pointless and they'll lose the war anyway, but at least he gets to go home. It's either death or freedom, and he's at peace with it.

In my opinion casualties is the best level of the game, not for its gameplay but for its history, after what happened last night you have a bad feeling, You feel that someone from the squad can leave at any time, the music is sad but with touches of joy, reflecting that despite everything there is hope that the Ghost Wolfs can return home and live away from that violence, the atmosphere with the first floors in a sunny place, with yellow tones make you feel the hope of the Wolfs to suddenly leave Hawaii , the atmosphere with the first floors in a sunny place, with yellow tones make you feel the hope of the Wolfs to suddenly leave Hawaii, But go to everything you feel that something will go wrong, you are waiting for fate to decide who will leave and go if you regret the loss...

But I dunno why I thought of these two songs today. But they feel nostalgic, and freeing. I think I get Beard a little bit more now, closing in on 30 years old. I've still got a good chunk of my life left, but there are things I need to let go of and say goodbye to. Take care of yourselves, friends. Never know when it'll be your own last level.
