Poison Path is a trip (pun intended) 😂 Mandrake is genus Mandragora, literally meaning 'The hand of glory' but fools literally used to used hands of dead criminals because they never got that 'Hand of Glory' was code for Mandrake 😂 of course it's all coded, the only thing scarier to the patriarchy than independent women are independent women tripping balls on hallucinogens.

Fun fact: magic practised by men was sanctioned by the church so long as it was in the name of god and the church, this was considered holy work. But any magic practiced by a woman was automatically black magic purely because they were a woman. There was actually a heated debate way back there somewhere between church officials at higher levels as to whether women actually have souls, with many believing we do not.

Excellent! Very important information in here. Yes! The inquisition tortured womin for their herb and plant knowledge, not a confession, and yes, they changed the information, the names, and used it for their own purpose, and not for the people's well being. They used it for the control of people. And yes, the language of plants as a means of communicating was one of the ways people kept knowledge alive.

The church used the same plants and methods the "witches" did- in other words, the medicine women who knew more than the men of the church did- after they stole their medicinal knowledge via torture and then killed them for being "witches". If you can't see who the real evildoer is in that situation, then you're farther from God's light than anyone ever accused of being evil because they are a pagan. Being a "good" person is what all the text seems to boil down to, the message it seems God wants his children to have, if you believe such things. I don't know that I believe in god, but I do believe in reserving judgement, in understanding, in compassion, in rationality over fear. And anyone who thinks it's their place to say that another person is less than they are only because they don't believe in the same god is missing the point of their whole religion.
