Great tip, had not thought of that.

My truck has the tip covering the entire tail pipe, as in the tail pipe extends to the end of the tip. It sounds terrific!

I used to have a 7” tip out the side on my duramax I put a dumped 12” tip on it and it got quieter in the cab lol tip is funny looking but it’s nice being able to listen to music on long drives

I am adding 2 speakers 16" and an amp for my 4 piston car

I’ve only seen this once before. Went looking on KZread and Facebook for MPI and now it magically appears!! Can you guys do a test on this just to see what different diameter tips sound like? Keep the lengths the same.

I actually need a 3 inch exhaust tip for my GTI, it is tuned to 350hp and has two exhaust tips. Exhaust is all straight pipe apart from a tiny valved muffler, decat/catless

Howdy, that wont have a sound effect on the tips, the ID size makes the different, on all our MPI exhaust system we make 3.5" tips for a great appearance and it provides a Moderate sound, then we offer different muffler to control the sound level wanted

Large resonator makes like a 4 cyl honda bad buzz sound go away and sounds good but on a v8 you want a small one to hear the high pitch goodness and a big ones sounds way too deep and bad drone . And The lenth of larger or smaller portion of the tip is important you can tune the frequency higher or lower like a pipe organ

Can we talk about the 10 inch diameter tips I see in the end of the Diesel pick-up trucks?

Most are just dumb with their giant tips, but I have a welder buddy who put one on his welding rig so he can put stuff in there to warm it up on pipeline jobs, so it’s actually for a purpose. He even said, I know it looks stupid but who cares! Lol.

what if you have 3 inch exhaust and fit a 2 inch tip. will you lose power?

Youll probably feel a little more bottom end power but top end will suffer if you choke it down like that. Velocity is what makes power in an exhaust system. Think of a garden hose. If you take the nozzle off, sure itll flow a ton of water but the stream wont be powerful, cover half the opening on the hose and not as much flows out but its velocity is much greater. Having a small tip on q big pipe will give you that choked hose effect. Itll have good initial power but it wont flow as much as it can flow at its peak.

it doesnt really do much unless you plan on cutting the stock exhaust which i wouldnt recommend if you live in a shitty state like i do with the dumb sleep law act. the closer you put the outer tip to the end of your stock pipe actually makes it louder from the inside of your truck vs extending it like 5 inch from stock exhaust pipe i feel

Lmfao exhaust tips dont ever change the sound or decibels of the exhaust noise

Ya but that clapping sound how donyou get read of that intook of a set of duls flow masters 40 sires not cats 2and a hlaf inch pipes i dont like the clapping sound and i went and put on magna flows dules it has a y pipe its on a 5.7 chevy 1989 motor tbi set up if you can hlep thanks and have a blessed day
