Holy shit from that 3 minute mark till the end I felt like we jumped thru the TV screen into some weird dimension and we're dancing all free . Damn Maggie Rogers. 40 year old woman over here dancing by myself, feeling like the first time. Thank you for that.

Worked in a department store this song was on a tape I heard over and over again so there was dancing in the fitting room! 😊

she wasn't hesitant or nervous. Her in-ear monitor wasn't working so she wasn't able to hear herself. But like a true performer she kept going and then her monitor kicked in just before the second verse. She explains this in an interview

TruthSeekingMissile I was wondering that, she started off slightly flat. Makes sense if she couldn’t hear herself or the instruments.

There are very few performers that perform with so much emotion that it literally makes your heart hurt but Maggie is indeed one of those. She’s out of this world.

The second she leaves the mic stand she loses herself in the music and becomes magic. Instant. Most people's voices get worse when dancing and it FUELS hers. Incredible.

I love her dancing, her voice, and she is so authentic and super pretty. Feels so raw and pure.

It's authenticity. She's not hiding below pretending. You unconsciously respond to that with every fibre of your being. I knew the opposite of the Kardashians had to pop up at some point.

ALUX featured the story of Maggie and her trip to Alaska and what Pharrell said - WOW! YES WOW! She is refreshing for the current music scene to this ole 60s DJ! She reminds me a great deal of EmmieLou.

It's refreshing to see a singer that just moves to the music!!! I am so tired of dance routines with a little music mixed in....She reminds of the GOOD OLD DAYS of REAL MUSIC and real singers...I like her...

Am I the only person who thinks something about her face is just so 70's!? Great performance!

I saw that interview, too. She pulled out of it and kicked ass the rest of the way. Not the way you'd like to have to deal with your first notes on SNL. I mean, it's LIVE.. The rest of the song and Falling Water were excellent.

Not to be rude, but in the album recording, she's flat when she sings " then I'm okay with that", specifically in the word "that". The reason I found this video is because I searched "Maggie Rogers flat" on Google.

Seems to be the quintessential hippie girl. I love it!

Are you ACTUALLY HER DADDY? I've been watching her for 2 years, and just bought tickets to her concert in ATL on my husband's Birthday !!! I am so enthralled by her. If you are indeed the Daddy... Well Done! She reminds me of our own Daughter, who struggles with the status quo. I can't wait to see her live. She's a fighter and a Beautiful Soul.

Maggie was truly born a star child and by star I don't mean like Superstar I'm talking stellar. Look at her go! The first time i saw her was that famous video with Pharrell Williams and now you are in freakin' SNL! You go girl! So proud!

In the interview with q on cbc, she stated that her ear piece wasn't working at the beginning with technical reasons and it got sorted at the chorus, so you can tell she ROCks out from that moment forward :) She's amazing

I saw that interview too. She must have been a little bit terrified, and when I heard this had happened I was a little reticent to watch this. But you're right, when it comes together, it REALLY comes together. Her dancing is so natural and personal. Not canned bizarro choreographed. It seems like a natural extension of herself. And the songwriting is excellent.

Exactly. As a producer of music she's contemporary but underneath that she's just a straight up great songwriter.

I remember seeing this. I was high and this spirit took me to another place. Then I found out that I’ didn’t have to be high.

The inhibition and exuberance for life like someone who's taken a butt load of ecstasy at burning man and their favorite Phish song just came on. But that's just who she is naturally and that's dope AF. If you didn't know who Maggie was after she dropped Alaska on us then you certainly do now.

People say she started out flat, I say she was flawless. The way she sings is beautiful. From beginning to end. The enhancement is when she starts dancing, and her clothes are perfect for her and this song.

Saw her when she was touring with Mumford and Sons in England. She captured me that day and have been a fan ever since

Simple... she... is... breathtaking talented.

I was lucky enough to catch her just after she broke with Alaska. It was such a wonderful show. Her vocals are so good in person, she is so real and her amazement and joy at the crowd knowing the words to her songs was the icing on the cake for the evening....I hope more people get to see her talent and enjoy it, She's like Mother Nature has come to life and she's just Beautiful!!!

Just saw this today. Never heard of Maggie Rogers before, but I feel she will go far. She has a genuine quality that is missing today. I agree with others that she was off key a bit in the beginning due to nerves, but she totally redeemed herself in the choruses. The whole performance had a 80's/90's vibe to me. I hear Edie Brickell, Alanis Morissette, Florence. Some great influences. And so nice to see someone just sing a song with a band again!!

I remember being made aware of this earpiece issue before and that's crazy that she still made it thru without noticing that. Like a pro. She's so inspiring. Even at my age. I have this thing when I'm super nervous I blurt out super inappropriate stuff. Not a lot, just in front of CEOs and the sort. Formerly potential in-laws.
