No, it's not. Her voice, like her body got older. This is not the original angelic voice. Completely two different voices. But this is absolutely natural. We all age in time. Even our shadows age!

I honestly cant tell you how thrilled I was to discover Maggie Reilly was a fellow Scot. My older brothers girlfriend at the time bought him this single. After they broke up he never ever played it. I used to sneak in his room and play it because i loved it so much. Everytime i hear it it brings back treasured memories of a childhood and a world where life was so much simpler. Thanks Mike and Maggie.....

God bless Maggie Reilly! She made the world a better place.

You often see performers from back then go on stage to sing one of their old hits, to put it diplomatically they should have stayed at home in bed. Here this lady still has the voice, the correct key and sings this song superbly. A real pleasure to watch and listen to. Thank you.

If you mean the correct key because her voice is now slightly deeper, then yes you are correct. It's not in the same key as the original though. The original was in E and this is in E-Flat. (A semitone lower)

When I visited Glasgow, Edinburgh and Kilmarnock in 2019, your voice and music was the only thing I could think about constantly. As a man who was born in the mid 80's, your voice is one of the first voices I remember hearing aside from my mother's. Thank you for your voice, thank you for existing, Ms Reilly.

I’ve loved Mike’s since I was a child (40+ years). MS is one of my favourites. Maggie’s voice is actually even more beautiful now then when first recorded. Goosebumps and gratitude ♥️

The first record I can remember listening to, 40 years ago... I must have played it dozens of times on our old music centre, and I knew all the words by heart. I was only five years old, and thinking about it - it's really not an appropriate song for that age! I didn't care, though, bawling out the words as it played. Then one day my mum produced a large, chunky set of headphones... "These are called headphones", she said, "and they plug in here. You can't sing when wearing them." Amazing, I thought, even though it meant I couldn't sing along any more. Sneaky old mum! And thank you to Maggie Reilly and Mike Oldfield - this will always be "my song".

After my daughter was born, I got back into Mike Oldfield's music mainly to help my girl fall asleep and simply expose her to amazing music. When she was in preschool, she came to love this song. She's 12 now and occasionally this song will come on a shuffle and I can see a smile on her face. She's musically inclined like me and her mom, and I can totally see her and I performing this song at some point! Maggie still has it, thanks for your gift!

@@Mannizilla Haha! Yeah... The Songs of Distant Earth was one she used to fall asleep to. She also really liked "The Bell". I have a video of her as a toddler "playing piano" to this song and I strongly believe that it helped her learn different musical sounds. As I said in my OP, she's very musically gifted.
