Mager VS Donut - Fight animation (Flipaclip)
Here goes my first fight animation! Not gonna lie, I had a lot of fun animating this and I want to make more videos like this in the future. I went back to the lore of my characters, and I'd like to make it a bit easier for you to understand with a couple of summaries (spoiler-free and from a neutral point of view). Hope you like it!

The characters are set in a country, within a world, in which the government has introduced human weapons, whose job is to maintain peace, care for and defend citizens; heroes. They maintain their role normally until the arrival of a group of people with powers and qualities similar to those of the heroes, who declare and attack against them for reasons of supposed revenge. For their swift and destructive sabotage of hero bases and city, they were recognized as villains. In the video you find a member of the heroes (Mager) against three villains (Mai, Donut and Lain).
➽ 𝙁𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙭𝙩
Villains don't have the weaponry, defense, or resources to sustain themselves, so they tend to steal directly from hero bases. Among the attack methods, Mai uses DNA samples to create supplements that do big damage amounts to said hero; from immobilizing to losing consciousness. Donut was in charge of collecting some, since Mai is not skilled with that type of hero (human-animal) in terms of attack and discretion. At the same time, Mager had the mission to catch one of the villains and leave them in the custody of other heroes.

Though with a ability like Telekinesis, just using it to throw rocks kind of lowers the potential of it a bit. If Hero has weapons why don't Mager use a weapon or weapons considering he has telekinesis. He can control multiple weapons which creates advantage in long range and also close range. Also it cool to know that Mai, Donut and Lain was villains, I didn't know that lmao.

What makes it cool is that the battle was animated so well as hell, I'm not surprised that Chip has improved every video because she was already improved like years ago. And the fact that Donut fights Mager just for the frickin hair 😭

The throw and tumble at the very beginning.. I’m gonna be honest I immediately thought of Rolling Girl animations.. but all in all your ability to animate 360 bodies and perspective is breath taking and I really wish to be able to accomplish what you have one day. Thank you for being an inspiration to countless people.

HELLO??? WHAT THE HECK- THIS IS JUST STUNNING!! OMG- I the camera angles, the expressions, smoothness, the consistency, the sheer amount of movement. Everything here is just perfect, and absolutely out of this world. It genuinely shocks me how talented you are, and I dream to one day be as good as you. I will never understand how pepple animate fight scenes. It seems so hard to tell where the characters need to be. Amazjng job by the way!!!
This is actually the best thing I have ever seen! It's animated better than MANY animes. I'm not just saying this, this has absolutely stunned me. Terrific job.
This is a really good animation. If you wanted any constructive criticism, I'd say do less close ups so you can really see the fight (also because if you were animating for a show it'd eventually aggravate the audience). Still glad you stepped out of your comfort zone for this!

The sudden change of drawing style at 1:02 is amazing lol. Jokes aside, this animation is truly anime worthy! I love watching animated fight scenes but in this one especially the transitions just blew me away and the movement and smoothness is just PERFECT!!!

honestly this is really really good, for your first time at animating a fight the scenes are well-made, but maybe slow down some parts for viewers since some things happen too quickly for some to process other than that, i like it a lot!

Tbh it's the fast scenes that make this better and more intense, but I agree with you though, I have to pause and slow down the video to understand what was happening

When I went into this, I didn’t know what I was expecting but everything was magnificent. The syncing to the music to the camera movements were so appealing to watch. I can’t wait to see how you will continue to do!!! :D

This really does give us information on the universe’s lore- Like the fact the villains are trying to get Mager’s DNA (I think-) and Mager’s powers being shown for the first time (I think again)- Absolutely amazing animation!! I can’t wait to see more! ❤️✨

Oh wow, I know I usually give a lot of critique on animations that are posted here but I can see so much improvement and so much more movement in this video and I don’t have much to say about it that I feel like could be worked on aside from maybe some more dramatic angles for the climax of the fight? Like building up to the climax a bit more But other than that the animation is smooth and clear, the perspective is amazing and the hatches for shading add a LOT You’ve really outdone yourself this time!

I love how this is all for a couple strands of hair LOL ( well ok were missing some context regarding that) but this is pretty epic. Im considering starting animation my self & I will be doing it in school for my graphic design course, so I kinda want to ask Chip, is there any beginner tips or common mistakes to avoid as a beginner animator?? Again pretty awesome work in the span of 2-3 years.

Thanks a lot! I think my biggest advice is to start with the basics and advance little by little, increasing the difficulty and not stop practicing, also understand basic principles in the movements and so on. Good luck! :D
