It’s not that unrealistic that police don’t go that fast in a 1 Star pursuit. In real life if you’re not a danger to anyone they’ll just tail you, not trying to pit you off the road, especially in crowded areas. Also police may decide to call off the pursuit and they can track you down later, because a suspect is too fast or it’s dangerous to pursue them.

They slow down at anywhere, even in abandoned roads where civilians dont spawn hence why I called it unrealistic in my opinion. At two stars or above, they dont give regard to public safety as they will go mad crazy, ramming your car into civilians and so on.

@@Thekillergreece What is the point of a video game if Police are going to be realistic? It would just be the most boring game ever. It needs to be semi-realistic with them being loosened up during missions so that you can actually have fun, and not spend every second worrying about the police.

@@bish0p2004 RDR has aggressive lawmen because the game is supposed to evoke the wild west fantasy of getting into shootouts and running from trigger-happy lawmen, it's not meant to be realistic. Similarly, GTA is about blowing shit up, shooting people, causing chaos and getting into high speed chases with the police. That's why the police are coded to be aggressive, violent, trigger-happy and generally irrational. It's meant to be conductive to the experience the game is trying to bring. Hell, the aggressive cops are the entire reason GTA exists in the first place: It was originally a racing game called Race'n'Chase, but a bug caused the cops in that game to act aggressively, which testers loved, and so the game was re-titled Grand Theft Auto and had a more crime-based focus. Unrealistically violent cops are part of the game's entire fun factor, fundamentally changing that would be the equivalent to taking away the ability to steal cars or carry 15 weapons around at once. Conversely, Mafia II is a semi-realistic game meant to evoke the experience of being in the mafia, which included dealing with law enforcement diplomatically rather than by killing or fleeing them, so the cops are coded more realistically and humanely, to be conductive to this intended experience. But nah, Rockstar is just lazy right? Clearly you know more about video game design than the people who have been developing the same kind of games for 15 years and have been refining them more and more each time. I swear, it's like you fuckers think all games should work the same, and that all of them have to have 100% "realism" in all aspects even if it isn't fun, makes no sense or doesn't lend to the experience the game is trying to bring. Please never develop any video game as long as you live.

Saw one of the best things today! So i was out cruising in my Hot Rod (replaying Mafia 2), and I heard sirens around the block with NPCs screaming, so I pulled over. Saw an older looking NPC running from two cops. The cops kept yelling, “STAND DOWN (blah blah blah)” well... he ended up kneeling down with his hands up, and right before they cuffed him, he stood up, punched one cop, and the other cops partner blasted him in the head. lol, just moments like that are hilarious and epic!!

Out of the three games, the police is mafia 2 is the most realistic, and I loved that they interact with other NPCs as well. And while not reaction with action, they react verbally if they see a gun, yelling to drop it or they shoot. Frankly, I just wished this game had a free ride mode, so you can try out everything, like eating in a dinner and so. I also miss while you can free roam in the DLCs, that there are only 1950s, not the 1940s

The reason why they check your Id when you bump into them is because they want to see if you're drunk, so they look at your picture on your license to see if you look drunk. Although back then most licenses did not have photos.

Interesting video, in all the time I played through that game there's things I haven't noticed apparently...

Gta is not supposed to be realistic as Mafia is. Gta is more of a satirical parody of the American culture consisting of violence, debauchery, etc.... Watch Pisswasser advertisement from gta 5, it shows you how Rockstar depicts America lol

I think both Mafia 1 and 2 are better then most other games of it's type, given the police actually tickets you for minor things, instead of arresting as police other games do. Plus that they react to NPCs as well in Mafia 2

I love this video and I think mafia 2 is the best game it's so realistic and fun and you can do anything you want and I love that if you kill someone in a suit and put it back on the cops will arrest you

I love how this game has 2 different eras, like I love games that do that (take fallout 4 for instance)

Jimmy enters the clothing store, takes out his gun, and shot the female store owner of Dipton Apparel! *BANG* And scared all of the customers. Customers: "Please, don't shoot!" Then he stole everything in sight, even cash, then fled from the scene of the crime! Later he came back to steal more stuff, but it was locked. Jimmy sucessfuly kicked the door, ripped the police tape that said Crime Scene Do Not Cross, entered the store to steal some more. But it was empty... The police took everything at the crime scene, for evidence to locate the killer. Finally, the cops found the trespasser in the store. Jimmy fled from the cops! Cops: "Dispatch! We are in pursuit of a suspect!" Dispatch: "Copy that." Never ever break into a place that is cordoned by the police. It's illegal.

Every single time one of these videos is uploaded someone goes "GTA should make their cops work like this." because they think these games are interchangeable and GTA's cops are programmed that way out of laziness rather than to help create the atmosphere of fun and chaos that the game is going for, and this game obviously isn't. Like not every open world game with cops is interchangeable with GTA, their cops are coded a certain way for a reason. If it was a mistake, or laziness, then they would have written it out by now in the 15 years they've made GTA.

They didn't do that, they just didn'n have time to finish game on 100% and some off that missing stuff was after added to DLCs. Yeah and it's not 80% but somewhere around 50%.

It repeats. If you get pulled over, you will get warning again (No cash). If you get pulled over, same warning and this cycle repeats until you decide to refuse the fine or do a crime that will escalate to two stars.

Ahaha I used to do just that. Get a speeding ticket but pull over stay in until they get close (before they can pull you out) ive hit the gas and GONE! Laughing as I look back as the cops get back in their car. Im long gone outta sight

It has flaws but I prefer this to GTA 5's militaristic police who will stop at nothing and shoot you dead at your feet! Even innocent NPCs in GTA 5 who shove another npc away from the the police will proceed to shoot the aggressor like why couldn't they make the cops have e tasers at first or something

You should speak in videos to make it faster or so. Use a voice changer if you can.
