My mom would also run poker games too in the back of a grocery store. We lived in a nice part of N.Y not far from Howard Beach.... I always felt safe and we could play in the streets because the cars wouldn't drive fast... One time this guy walked up to us while we playing double Dutch and he flashed us. All the guys came out from the club across the streets and beat the shit out of him... I was maybe 9 at the time. My mother said it was because he was a bad man.... They threw him in the car... We never saw him again... In the summer they would open up the fire hydrants and we would cool off in them... Then towards the 4th we had huge block parties with all kinds of food and fireworks.... I use to go to the 🐎 track with my dad at Belmont park... I got to see all the horses in the back. I was able to pet a few and feed them carrots. Yes even the 🏆 winner's. The 🍕 in my neighborhood, I could walk in and get a huge slice of pizza every day for lunch and I never paid..... I'd walk in the shop and they'd cut it and heat up and put on wax paper in a bag... This one guy would bring in Merch and my mom would pick things she wanted off him...

Natale is actually behaving well, he never got up and left or did anything brash, *his bravado is not so outrageous nor is the anger, but rather typical for old school Italian men of that time.* Not saying it's right, just that it is rather typical of old school Italians, I've seen worse in my own Italian family.

A Man who can say "I'm sorry for raising my voice" will always be a man of respect in my life 💯
The only mobster who Lucky Luciano ever feared was Ralph.
This guy did two long stretches in the joint and never ratted anybody out. Both times he was in prison he got screwed over and his family was not taking care of as promised. After a lifetime of keeping quiet he finally had enough and decided to rap because he didn't want to spend his final years on this planet in prison.

Seemed like you had to keep some patience with Ralphy. But great interview.
All I know is he has the greatest “spit sound” as an insult in history.
He's not a nice guy, but he's a gangster. He's probably the most honest gangster I've seen on KZread. Lot of these mob guys have learned to turn on the charm for juries, lawyers, probation officers etc whereas the old school are just unvarnished anger and bitterness.

PBD/Valuetainment: Dominick Montiglio was a soldier in the infamous Gambino Crime Family Demeo Crew in the 1970's/early 80's. Please look into getting him on the show - he has interviews in the past and appeared in the best Mafia documentary of all time, Crime Inc. from 1984 as well as several others into the 90's. Again, I think this would be a great guest to have on your show and to compliment these invaluable Mafia pieces.

@usmc 03retired Montiglio fled to the West Coast after being involved in a dispute over money from a mob controlled gambling night. He returned to NY to collect on a debt, and was arrested in a sting. While awaiting trial he was told his uncle was planning to have him killed. It was then he decided to rat. As for this war, it never happened. Castellano made his peace with Delacroce when he made him his underboss, effectively renewing Gambino's old agreement with him. So far from being on the losing side, Montiglio, his uncle, and DeMeo were actually all sitting pretty .
