He even samples one of the first sample based pieces of music on that song too, which I think is super cool. The song is "come out" by Steve Reich, really trippy piece of experimental sound collage music from 1966. The story of where that sample originally came from is really interesting too, the person saying "I had to like, open the bruise up, and let some of the bruise blood come out to show them" is actually one of the "Harlem 6", which were six black teenagers falsely accused of murder when only one of them was actually responsible. That sample is from one of the innocent teenagers who was explaining how he had to draw blood from his bruise to prove to the police that he was beaten in jail. I don't think I've ever heard a sample in hip hop that contains so much musical AND political significance as that one.
