Madonna - your little body 's slowly breaking down

Фильм және анимация

I did not find this bit anywhere. So I decided to try and upload it.
[Peron:] Your little body 's slowly breaking down. You're losing speed, your losing strength, not style. But your eyes, your smile do not have the sparkle of your fantastic past. If you climb one more mountain - it could be your last.
[Eva:] I' m not that ill. Bad moments come. But they go. Some days are fine, some a little bit harder. But that doesn't mean we should give up our dream. Have you ever seen me defeated? Don't you forget what I've been through and yet, I'm still standig.
[Peron:] Eva you're dying.
[Eva:] So what happens now? Where am I going to?
[Peron:] Don't ask any more.

Because the academy hates Madonna as an actress, and she won an award as tje worst actress time ago for the Body of evidence, she was great in Evita, but they don't believe in her as an actress because they don't see Madonna like that .. a lot of people said.. well she made a lot of musical videos as before... However she won the Golden Glove, her vocals were improved, she make her dream come true after 13 years, and she demonstrated that she can act.

@@williesolcha3634 very true, also there are a lot of actors that started with less-than-perfect acting shops but improved after every opportunity given, I think she was the case, but you can improve if they don't offer you the chance to do so

She pushed and put everything into getting the role and she certainly did an amazing job. I can't think of anyone else who would have been better. When she can relate to a role, have life experiences to draw from and work with an incredible director and cast she showed what she can do. She was bad in a lot of movies because she was in a lot of bad movies. She was great in desperately seeking Susan because she could relate to the character. A league of their own showed she can do comedy plus it was a great script with the brilliant director Penny Marshall. She also acted well in the Abel Ferrara movie Dangerous Game.

@@robertfraser9873 There are plenty of actors that acted really well and really badly only because of bad direction or terrible editing, the problem with her was being Madonna, she wasn't allowed to do a mistake, I'm old enough to remember all her phases, even when she was a success to the public, media tried to destroy her

Everyone at the time said Peron only married her for the glamour and image. But he truly and 100% was deeply in love with her. He just was not the type of man to show it, but in private her death killed a big part of his soul.

I'm not sure glamour and image played a part... she was a radio actress and he was a military man, and his romance with her was actually frowned upon. She was half his age and pretty, not much more to say....

It's also worth adding that this was the second time he had lost his wife to cervical cancer. Peron's first wife died in 1938 from the same illness that killed Evita 14 years later. Having to deal with that twice must've really been hard on him.

Didn't work for Russell Crowe in Les Miserables lol, but then these two are in a different league, simply world class. It really was an underrated and unappreciated film, but I strangely think that's because it came before its time. If it were made now, I think it may have generated an entirely different response from both the critic and fan audiences who now "get" musicals.

Madonna when in the right rôle can act. Here in "Evita" or as "All-the-Way" Mae in "A League of Their Own." That being said it is unlikely that Juan Perón told Eva she was ill with cancer. In the early 1950s often terminal diagnoses were withheld from patients so the real Eva Perón died a painful death she had little to no agency over. She was the first person in Argentina to be given chemotherapy and if chemo is bad today we can only imagine how it was as a novel treated seven decades ago!

Why? To please you? She just broke a record for largest crowd at a concert ever, over 40 years into her career. I’d say she’s still relevant. As long as an artist wants to create, they should be able to. Creativity doesn’t stop at a specific age. Her fans would love for her to make new music. If you’re not a fan, your opinion really doesn’t matter. Listen to whomever you like and enjoy.

She had style. If you didn’t like it, fine, but she’s never been boring or safe, that’s for sure, and most people who have style are willing to take risks. She definitely had a large impact on the fashion industry… designers flocked to dress her. Who has style to you? Taylor Swift or someone equally vanilla?
