Until recently... Now she is falling into the pitfall of so many artists, and becoming more and more desperate in an attempt to remain relevant to the younger listeners. It breaks my heart to see, since she is a precious element of my early adulthood and coming out process. I first heard Holiday and Lucky Star in the first LGBT club I ever entered in fall of 1983. She absolutely was one hell of a trailblazer for Gaga, Taylor, and some other powerful younger women. But nothing requires her to try to keep it up into her mid to late 60s. There comes a time for *everyone* to say enough is enough and let go of the grind and just relax and enjoy life.

I recently saw a comment from someone saying Madonna was just a performer not an artist like (their favourite singer) I just saw her for the first time live, Madonna is 💯 the definition of an artist! ❤

When her album 'Ray of Light' first came out in 1998, I played it in my car for the next two years. It's a complete masterpiece of an album.

Like Madonna or not, she is the undisputed MASTER of reinvention for a musical artist! Her different vibes before this, then Frozen stunned, at so different, and different look. THEN 2 yrs. later her party infused 'Music' and completely different direction again. I know of no other artist who can, or has, completely changed their sound and look, aside from being massively successful each time.

Madonna was in a whole other level. The more you learn about her career the more is clear why she is the undisputed queen of pop. I believe she has contributed so much to pop art in an artistc an cultural way, i do believe she must be talk about like someone like Andy Warhol for her impact in art and society.

Love this! She's got an amazing discography, so many hits, so many amazing albums as a whole, amazing videos, amazing live concerts, she'S the OG blueprint, a real artist. Singer, songwriter, producer, dancer and many other things. She changed the game for all females that came after her.

That extensive intricate Mehndi art on her hands makes them far more powerul/impactful than they would be if unadorned, and as someone who got some Mehndi tattoos back in the early 2000s, I know that for THAT level of hand work, it requires 5 hours minimum, and then not using your hands for equally long to not crack off the substance drying and tinting the skin. MASSIVE dedication and patience required.

One of the few songs where I remember exactly where I was when I first heard it. ❤

I've watched many reactions to this video and you're the first ones who spot that face transition at 3:54. I remember watching the behind the scenes and that was one of the VFX that the producers talked about. The guy in charge of the effects said that there were imperceptible effects that nobody catches. The missing face was becoz of the costume blowing in the wind. No magic there. 😂 The armeography was a bit like Indian/yoga movements (she is a ballad dancer afterall). The 3 Madonna(s) scenes was inspired by Hecate. This song and LP was so ahead of its time for pop. This video was so captivating. One of her best eras.

As a fan from the early years and this being my favorite Madonna video, I've never seen what you see, including your theory about the accompanying lyrics. So many great Madonna video's to watch, especially from this era: 'Power of Goodbye' / 'Drowned world' / 'Ray of light' and 'Nothing really matters'. But also earlier video's like: 'Human nature' / 'Vogue' / 'Like a prayer' and recent video's from her 2019 Madame X album 'God control' / 'Batuka' and 'Dark Ballet'. These are some deeper cuts, but she made a lot of fun dance bangers too in 4 decades of being Queen of pop and counting. Like to see more from you!
