Taking anything Tricky gives, even if it _looks_ helpful at first glance, would likely be a really, _really_ bad idea. In this instance, Tricky's not really helping Sanford, at least not completely; he's just toying with him even further, because the latter has no idea if those weapons really _are_ weapons, or are something like fakes or booby traps. Edit: Of course, the SMG turned out to really _be_ an SMG, but Sanford likely only picked it up and started using it after it became clear he had no better options available.

A few things I’d like to note. Auditor’s text is in black, while Tricky’s is red. In 2:30 we see black text telling Sanford and M. Hank to leave, which is the Auditor telling them to leave, followed with spikes, a trademark of the Auditor. Sanford and Hank are then split up, with Hank being taken by the Auditor, who again, arrives with and hits Hank with spikes, while Sanford is left to distract Tricky. Hank arrives after a few minutes fully healed with a brand new armed, foretold by spikes shooting up from the ground which are, you guessed it, the Auditor’s trademark. Now why would the Auditor’s trademark show up followed by a powered-up Hank? Because the Auditor *wants* Hank and Sanford to get rid of Tricky from his body. The Auditor realizes that one of his biggest threats is the clown, and has to employ the help of his two rivals in order to take down Tricky. This is also made more apparent when Hank is about to slam Tricky with a platform, which sprouts, you guessed it, spikes, a combo move from both Hank and the Auditor. After pushing the Mag Skeleton into the beam of light(?) Hank is given this almost quick time event, in which we are confirmed that this is in fact the Auditor’s Hell we are in. Hank is teleported to some place, with spikes, and is given weapons to fight off the skeletons that sprouted from the beam of light. This was the Auditor yet again working in favor of Hank. After Tricky is killed by Hank, spikes shoot out from the ground around Tricky’s corpse, signifying the Auditor’s freedom as he seeps out from Tricky’s corpse and reclaims Jebediah’s Halo, stating “Finally…” as if he was waiting for Tricky’s death.

I have realized something Hank's mag arm outputs more energy than his other hand, but not because it contains his powers. It's made canon in "an experiment" that the madness grunts actually don't have arms, only floating hands, so my guess is this. Hank's arm and other hand are almost identical, displaying the same amount strength and dishing the same amount of force and power, Hank can even hold the halo with his normal hand and it doesn't affect him, so I was wondering what made the mag arm special. Hank gets his electric powers in madness ten, and obviously they would come from his mag arm, but his other hand actually inflicts electricity as well, just weaker. And what's a common fact about electricity, it can charge up, and Hank's powers get to charge up more on his arm because in channeling it, it doesn't go straight to the hit, it goes through the arm, giving it time to charge up than just instantly going his hand when he hits someone.

Hank and Sanford haven't died. The Auditor came out of Purgatory through the white reality gate just fine. So, I'd argue Hank and Sanford are just fine, but shown unconscious for the sake of the plot (auditor getting his halo back).

The first episode came out in 2002 silly.

One of the most brilliant displays of show-don't-tell I've ever seen animated. Absolute magnum opus.

I know I’m late, but I feel like from 6:05 to 7:10, the auditor is in full control of hank. His movements are slow and heavy like auditors from 10, his arm moves around as if the auditor is controlling both as two entities, he keeps a controlled fire on the LMG, unlike how Hank just kept firing when he grabbed one in 10, and he goes from focusing on killing tricky, right to grabbing the halo, something I doubt Hank would prioritize atm. And it’s only after they both get put in the ground twice that auditor gives Hank control again, taking the back seat and just powering up Hank instead. Hell the fact that Hank just casually tosses Sanford an axe by throwing it behind him shows that hanks taking the lead.

I like to think that tricky the clown is the same protagonist from the first episode. At the end of 1 and 4 the protagonist or tricky uncaringly starts dancing while surrounded by corpses.

the drive was activated by the sheriff so if he didn't hesitate to shoot the sheriff in the second episode the rest of the series probably wouldn't have happened

Sandord at this point, has probably lived the longest of any protagonist in the series, he's been alive for three episodes where the lifespan of the main character usually is at one, two at his very best. Hell, next to Antipathy Hank he's taken the second most amount of damage. He's fatigued, been shot twice, been beaten around by players outside both his and Hank's class and been keeping up. He even takes out the majority of this episode's enemies while Hank is out of action. He's never been a match for Tricky, ever since episode 5.5 and the fact he managed to fend for himself in spite of all that shit is kinda impressive honestly.

Watched the entire series in one sitting and the climax of this episode is unbelievable. My favorite video yet, because everything comes together to form something that can only be truly understood by those who have watched every episode. You understand the complete and utter hatred Tricky holds towards Hank. You watched as the demented clone has been mercilessly beaten over, and over, and over again by one, single man, until the presence of that man can never be forgotten. Hank has been quite literally beaten into Tricky's mind, and the thought of the lone killer will never leave his twisted brain, for better or for worse. You understand the bond between brothers. You've watched Deimos as he fights tooth and nail, as stones form under his jaw and minerals plague his lungs. You've watched Sanford as sends his foes to meet their creator, as he posed in the mirror and then hooked, lined, and sinkered. In between, the two will do a secret handshake perhaps, comb their hair, and pick up their weapons. The madness never ends, and they're not expecting it to. You understand Hank's evolution as a killer, coming from the bottom all the way the top. You have seen him massacre entire buildings of soldiers, beat the hell out of zombies until they die once more, and fight who is quite obviously... Jesus Christ? Hold on a second... that can't literally be... holy shit... um... ah no, my bad. Hanks fights *Jebidiah Christoff*, a completely different dude, who's like a scientist or something. He's got a doctorate from somewhere in Nevada, don't know what college, but whatever. God's not dead, so the madness continues. Hank has never stopped his killing spree. The only time he kicks it back is when he needs to clean up his blood, wrap up some ugly wounds, and put on a badass black robe complete with blood red optics and bandages and shit. The guy is stacked. Worst of all, he knows how to use it. He has dueled the Sheriff, he has made Mag Agents crumble, and he has silenced the Auditor. No one can stop him, not even himself. It's just such an absolutely badass series man. The (madness) combat is always so thought out, you could stop and analyze every little detail, see how every punch and movement was planned... but we ain't that smart, so we're just gonna keep watching. There's no time for pausing, only madness...ing (?). Nothing is more exhilarating than pure adrenaline, watching the now monstrous Tricky as his improbability drive screeches to uncontainable levels and the beast screams the name of his murderer as he slams him into what is considered Hell (I think, I have no idea). The waves of creatures that come to slaughter Hank and Sanford, Tricky jumping in between to finish the job, Sanford standing before what is believed to be his demise, only for the serial killer to drop upon his nemesis and rip and tear every single fiber of that creature. Waves of Trickys, slaughtered, as if they were nothing but circus clowns. I just nerded out essentially, but yeah, your work is impeccable. Wish you the best moving forward and have a good day.

Hey man I really enjoyed reading your write down your thoughts on this series! Was very entertaining! But on the note about Tricky, I don't even think that the clown holds nothing but contempt for Hank, I think on some level he enjoys his brawls/fights with Hank. He would have to, considering that Tricky actually revived Hank back in MC6 and left him a note reading, "just do what comes natural". So he must enjoy the mayhem that Hank causes. I think he has some kind of twisted love/hate relationship for Hank that's just as delusional and insane as he is! 9.5 also shows just how much he hates anyone else getting in the way between what he and Hank has. Very Batman and Joker-ish! Anyway, I'd suggest trying out Madness: Project Nexus if possible! It really delves deeper into the lore and world of Madness Combat, plus it's just good bloody fun!

@@inconsideratebox3000 It's definitely implied with how he's willing to throw him a weapon in MC6 and even help him against the Retainer! I recommend playing Project Nexus Classic first if you can, since Project Nexus continues the story from that one.

@@inconsideratebox3000 Nice! Episode 1.5 of nexus Classic really goes into detail on the backstory for one of the characters so it's pretty important! It is known for being pretty difficult though so don't be ashamed to lower the difficulty lol

The most interesting part is how Hank keeps trying to protect Sanford. MAG hank, an amalgamation of an assassin and a monster, has more empathy for others than regular Hank. There's something really poetic about it.

I think you guys might be looking too far into it and Hank helps Sanford because Sanford and Deimos helped him... I don't think we know enough about Hank's personality to say whether or not his empathy changed upon being revived.

@@generichuman4651 When he exited the MAGnifier he was a third of his intelligence, but when he touched the halo it gave him back his knowledge, that's why he's a lot more tactic in his fights rather than raw fighting like in MK 9 and beggining of 10

At 5:27 i bet sandford or deimos idk is regretting entering this hell hole compared to hank, if i was hank i would be enjoying myself

Its hard to notice but i like how at 5:54 Tricky turns the accuracy all the way up, but then down a bit to make sure he doesn't actually kill Sanford, just to put him in a state of terror.
