Madlib created an alter ego jazz band. broke the band up and created solo projects for the members before people realized that the band was just madlib productions. That man is a genius.

@@yOGlolil b is behind musically, his old tracks are classics, but I don’t think anything he could make today could stand next to the current artists out rn

If you watch this whole interview, it’s pretty much Madlib saying all he does is make beats. Every answer is him saying it’s what he does and that’s what he loves to do. Gotta admire someone who’s so focused on his craft, that he doesn’t even know how to explain the process when it’s just crafted in his DNA. That kind of passion is what a lot of producers lack since they aren’t focused on the art form, they just want a hit record and to be known. This man lives and breathes music. It’s a way of life for him. Props to Madlib 💯

Madlib is a freaking musical genius and has produced SO MANY good hip hop beats and songs. Jaylib is legendary and there are too many good Madlib albums to call one out by name. If you know you know, and if not, you should.

Man’s a genius. Instantly brings back memories, as a child playing with my mother’s turntable without a receiver. I stumbled on that little trick by accident one day after school. Sometimes, I’d sneak a listen to her adult records like Eddie Murphy, Red Fox and Richard Pryor when she was at work and play Earth, Wind and Fire Just to hear the faint sounds of the music through the stylus head. I almost forgot that was even possible.🤗
