One of the best videos about Madeira I have seen so far. Loved the details of the 10 must see places, and the pros/cons of some of these places. Great efforts taken to describe Pico to Pico hike, I am going to re-watch that section again to absorb all the content described and then decide based on my fitness levels. I will be in Madeira third week of June, during my first visit to Portugal. Thank you so much for presenting a super informative and beautiful video on Madeira.

We have been living on Madeira for 10 years now, and still enjoying it every day. Fine video ! Just a reminder: fish is not seafood! Madeira is not really a seafood place (except from lapas we don't care for), but there are several kinds of fish on the menu of most restaurants

Despite your weather issues, you came up with a very good list. Excluding Cabo Girao and Santana (too touristy) were fine moves. My only complaints (minor) are that Fanal should have been higher and we would have added the Nossa Senhora de Fátima Chapel (with its glorious views of the Sao Vicente valley). For first timers, you did well. We spent six weeks on the island last February and March and are planning to move to Madeira this summer. It really is an extraordinary island. There is so much to do and explore for a place that is the size of Singapore. We still haven’t experienced places like Porto Santo, the Valley of Nuns and the Achadas da Cruz cable car. But we will. ;-) Also, Paul do Mar may be (relatively) in the middle of nowhere but it really is a unique place. Glad you got to stay there.

Ahhhh I would move to Madera sight unseen lol love that y'all hit this spot so I can see it through your eyes! I'd love a budget breakdown of the trip we'd be going from the US with 2 teenagers so trying to budget for it

I love Madeira and want to do the Picos hike but both times we tried there were weather warnings due to high winds and rain. Maybe third time lucky... I enjoyed your selection of "best bits" although I'd probably include the cliffs at Cabo Girao (3rd? highest in Europe).

That’s so exciting!! We always use Discovercars.com because they look at over 500 companies including local ones. I think we paid $700 for 13 days of renting a car. It all depends on time of year. The thing is discover cars will give you insurance coverage and then when you arrive, the car companies will try to tack on $25-35/day of their own insurance policy. It isn’t a scam really but kind of pointless and scummy for them to push this on you. We just stuck with our insurance through discovercars.com which was $90 I think

They are not too strict on drone laws just yet but you should always be careful not to fly around the east part of the island because of the airport

The images that you show at 6:30-6:35 aren´t from Madeira!!! The same at 6:42!!!! The same at 7:02!! The same at 7:20!!!! At least you chosed the best restaurant to eat "espetada"... but chicken "espetada"... this isn't a traditional food from Madeira!!!
