One of the best vidoes on Madeira, loved how you split your stays in a unique way instead of staying in Funchal which 90% of people do. You did justice capturing stunning scenery of the coastlines. How long were you there in total in Madeira?

Wow - thank you very much - very happy that you enjoyed it. And yeah we did want to stay very close to the places we want to visit at sunrise or sunset so staying in Funchal (the whole time) was not an option for us. We stayed for 14 nights, but only explored the island for about 10-11 days.

Beautiful video, expecially the sunset timelapses. I have been on Madeira in 2018 unfortunately during a storm. My plane was the last one that could land on the island. Nevertheless it's such a stunning landscape. And the hike from Pico Ruivo to Arieiro is stil on my bucket list ;-)

Thanks for such an in-depth travelogue the photography, drone shots and timelapses were just superb and would you recommend Madeira for night astronomy trip as well as taking in the local sights, would the weather and clouds make it difficult on an average viewing night, once again thanks for sharing!

Thanks a lot - we are very happy that you enjoyed it. For astro photography I guess places in the desert are more suited. There is almost everywhere a light source but if you go up the mountains on the plateau of the western side (near the Fanal pond) you may find good spots. But to get a clear sky you may need time and patience.

Madeira is a relative small island. So we decided to stay some nights on the north western coast and some nights on the south eastern coast. From there you can go to all the mentioned locations in a short time period. And since the weather is unpredictable and often different in the south compared to the north you are very flexible. All the locations to visit from a place are mentioned in the video. Have fun exploring. All the best!

All our technical stuff we used for the footage is listed in the description. In this case the Mavic Air 2. And we are very happy that you like it. :-)

Vielen Dank für die sehr schönen Aufnahmen, einige Eindrücke konnte ich leider noch nicht persönlich erleben. Von wann stammen die Aufnahmen? Die Seilbahn bei Santana war bereits im Mai 2022 nicht mehr in Betrieb, und der Cascada dos Anjos ist seit mindestens März mit Betonelementen verengt. Aber vor allem die Gebirgsaufnahmen sind wirklich wunderbar.
