Just incredible. The contrast of the fresh, vibrant growth and lush flowering with the old mossy stonework and formal, if whimsical, dark forms of the topiaries makes for a complex yet cohesive design. Very inviting and nurtures the spirit.

WOW! What a BEAUTIFUL place to visit, Palheiro gardens is truly so beautiful :-) it looks like the middle of Spring, everything looks so healthy and so much colour :-) absolutely gorgeous :-) and I loved the cute little Lizards too :-) Thank you so much for sharing your amazing visit with us Rachel, and sending you an abundance of love and happiness from Waterford to Wexford for an INCREDIBLE weekend ahead XXXXXX

Love your video. I have a friend (German) who just got back and she described it and my only reference was the RBG which is soo lovely as well. I am now convinced that all "gardens" have so much to offer humans in the way of putting us on another plane of peace, beauty and tranquility. I experienced that watching your video. Everything works for a lovely lovely departure in one's day for a few lovely minutes.

What an amazing place! Fantastic! Those topiaries at 1:55 were quite funny! I have no idea what they were supposed to look like. Baby elephants within teacups? :) I loved the little lizards! Cute! And so many beautiful blooms!!

+Orchids & a Dutchy We had to examine those topiaries long and hard to guess what they were. In the end we imagined they were some sort of bird. Artistic license, I think :)

Spectacular garden! Although, I could do without the lizards. But beautiful!

+Jackie Binkley Now that is a hard question as I don't know what your cost of living is and you don't know what mine is! I was in a touristy area so prices weren't much cheaper than at home. But I would say that locals live cheaply, especially outside the capital. Portugal in general is much cheaper than Ireland except in touristy areas.
