Hi Kathryn, I’m from Sydney, Australia and have just started watching your podcasts and found your joy of knitting very infectious and lovely k it’s as well. I have been knitting for many years and at the moment knitting a jumper for my 1 year old great granddaughter and with a pattern that I used for my children when they were that age. See you in two weeks.

Yes to a make along!
I'm up for a make-along, Kathryn. Your mum and I knitted Black Sheep Wool's KAL, "A day out", during C19. Hers adorns your sofa! I made mine into a baby blanket (your mum is more industrious). Each square is based on a different part of the village where I grew up, Culcheth. We also had a go at steeking cardigans. Loving your podcasts. ❤
@madebymoomeeno

I knew that you had done the KAL together, but I didn't realise the connection with your village. That's so nice! I am working out the details for the MAL and will definitely talk about it on the next episode 🥰
I'm so grateful to have discovered your podcast and let my sister know about it right away. Your Art Nouveau sweater is beyond amazing and inspiring! I share your your love of Ozetta patterns, and have become a HUGE fan of ANKESTRiCK - I've knit two of her patterns so far - two Garden Cardigans and one Lenu pullover, both beautifully written patterns.

I so love the Moomins too! Snufkin is my favorite. I only learned of them reading them with my kids as they were growing up. I'm spinning some beautiful corriedale fibre while watching, and I'm really glad to have found your channel. I enjoy your projects and the thoughtful way you discuss knitting. I'm really interested in trying a musselburgh to make some gifts as my friends and I are all turning 50 from this autumn onwards and I wanted to give them a handmade gift and was just thinking of socks but you described the pattern in a way that made me feel it might be more versatile than socks.

I have been a bit remiss in my spinning practice over the last couple of weeks but I am planning on getting stuck in over the summer when I have some time off. I definitely recommend the musselburgh and I have heard that Ysolda Teague has done a whole episode on how to modify and hack her pattern which is very helpful so I will be looking that up. Hello Katrin! People often call me that here and it sounds so nice :) I haven't actually tried any of Ysolda's other patterns and really must. Thank you so much for watching 🥰
You made me fall in love with the Art Nouveau Sweater and since I'm a brown lover as well I would pick a very similar base color as the one you have chosen, it looks gorgeous! I hope I can see you wearing it in one of the coming episodes of your podcast. The little yarn shop you showed was recommended to me in the beginning of this year by a woman who lives close by as soon as she learned that I love to knit. I visited the shop in March and bought some nice yarn there and I really was surprised that I never before heard of this lovely and well-assorted oasis of joy for every yarn addict. I live in Viersen and so it is not too far away for me as well so this has definitely not been my last visit there. I would love to participate in a KAL or MAL as long as its theme leaves the freedom to choose from a variety of patterns to knit. My taste tends to not match the majority of other people's preferences and I want to knit something that I really enjoy. Today while watching your podcast I was knitting on my Flame On Shawl by Patrick Donohue which is my first deep-dive into two-color brioche. So greetings to Mönchengladbach (the city I was born in eternities ago) from "just around the corner", looking forward to our next encounter.

I also LOVE the colorwork test knit that you made, and have now favorited some of her things on Ravelry! The colorwork socks look amazing as well! I’ve never knit colorwork socks though, I would be afraid that they would be too non-stretchy and wouldn’t pass the heel! Do you have any experiences of it? Always enjoy your videos. Funny you mention bunting because that’s what I’m working on while I watch. I’m making some crocheted triangle bunting for my fireplace. It’s a bit hot here and I needed something small to work on. I’d be interested in a MAL but again, it would be small item as working on a full sweater would be a bit much during the summer here. I do have three sweaters at the moment that I need to rip out and re-knit because they’re too big for me now. At least one of them will be the same Felix Cardigan as I love that piece. The other two are questionable whether I’ll re-knit or just re-purpose the yarn.

Brilliant! I have a nephew who is obsessed with chickens so my mum made him an emotional support chicken which now goes everywhere with him! It is so adorable! You are very lovely to have such knit-positive grandkiddies 🥰

You have no idea, I'm so lucky. Every year my 3 adult sons, their wives, all the grands and my wonderfully patient, lovely husband go with me on what the grands and I have come to call the "NH wool walk" (our wool show in our state). I am lucky my grands love the wooly wool I love to work with, my DILs also knit and crochet and the men in my life do not complain because they have wool hunting sweaters, wooly socks, wool and baby alpaca neck warmers.... etc. And to top it off I have found this lovely podcast! I am truly grateful!!!!
What a thoughtful gift! Your knits are glorious! ❤

Hi Kathryn. I am new here after having heard about you on Corine's podcast. Your knits are beautiful! I loved especially the art nouveau colorwork. You will laugh...I sat crocheting my Mars Tee because I don't knit. I love knit items but have never learned. I am so enjoying the challenge of crocheting with wool fingering weight to get a look that reminds me of knitting. Right now, I am using cotton though for my tee. Happy knitting from The Netherlands 🧶

Hello in the Netherlands! Of course; crochet :) I always forget because I can't crochet 😂 Did another podcaster give me a shout out? That is so sweet! Can you tell me the name of the podcast so I can thank them? Thank you so much for watching 🥰

@@madebymoomeeno I am going to start binge watching your earlier podcasts. So I am sure you will see more comments as I go. I am looking how far the yarn shop is from here. Have you been to the shop in Goch? The podcast is called Creanelia. She does podcasts in Engligh as well as Dutch.

Lovely! Thank you for letting me know :)
I love your idea for the KAL. How would it work for newer knitters though? I haven't been at it long enough to have a stash or patterns I've had a while obviously. I love your podcast! You're so sweet and I could listen to you all day 💙

I love watching your podcast. Thank you! I’m working on my second Reagan by Isabel Kramer. I seem to have a hard time getting the fit I want with all of my garments. Ugh!

Fancy colour work is my next big thing. I'm doing a workshop soon to build confidence. Currently I stick to stripes and intarsia

I like to do knit alongs, but I usually finish after they are done.

Hello from a sweltering hot Canada. I love your Art Nouveau...can't wait for it's release 😊. I went over to check out Woolyknit DK for the Art Nouveau, since I may make a purchase anyway...and it is on sale at the moment!...but I'm wondering if there is enough yardage on a cone, so I shall wait until the pattern is available.
love the art nouveau❤ i have just discovered the glorious array of mortensen knits, I'd love to have another pattern and join a knitalong😊

Hi Kathryn. I'm curious about how you find out about all of the test knits that you sign up for. I have never done a test knit, but I think that it would be fun.

Hello! I find out about test knits by signing up for newsletters from the designers I would like to test for, following others on instagram, and following hashtags like testknit and testknitting so calls come up in my feed. I apply for a lot more than I actually get though :) Thank you for watching 🥰

Hi! I really love your sweater, the brown color you chose is amazing! I would like to have some of the Woolyknit yarn as well, but as I am living in Europe I'm afraid the toll taxes will be too much for me. Did you have to pay a lot for importing this wool from the UK to Europe, or did you buy it while in the UK? Anyway, I really love your podcasts, I have seen 2 so far but planning to start from the beginning. Thanks for all the hard work for making this!

Hello! I actually ordered to be delivered in Germany. Two things to keep in mind: 1. double-check the limits for the value of a parcel because, if it is under the limit, it will be much lower in import fees, OR, 2. wait until there is a discount or sale because I find the savings cancel out the cost of postage and import :) Thank you for watching 🥰
Hi Kathryn, oooh yes I'd be up for that sock recipe. I rediscovered sock knitting this last winter... Love the art nouveau sweater!

Hi Kathryn, a little hello from Denmark. Really enjoying following allong your knitting journey. I like the idea of a MAL using deep stash yarn and patterns. I do try to knit through my stash, but somehow I managed to buy new yarn for all my projects this year 😅 so a MAL could very well be the gentle push I need 🙏

Hello in Denmark! I visited Copenhagen earlier in the year and it was lovely. I hope to go back again very soon :) I know what you mean about the stash; the balance for me is more yarn in than out but I can't help it 😂 Thank you for watching 🥰
