Love your podcast. Pier 39! ❤️ I wanted to tell you that I struggled learning to spin, someone recommended using a fiber with a longer staple. I switched to Rambouillet and it made a lot of difference while learning. Anyway, just thought I would pass on the advice 🤷🏻‍♀️❤️

Yeyyyy! A lovely episode. I love love love that quilt. And the pier top is so gorgeous and answers the question that's been living in the back of my mind which is whether stripes work in variegated marl-y type yarn. And now i have my answer. Stunning 😍 I may make a Puntal for himself at some point. A very good stashbuster.

Hi Kathryn! I love your hexagon quilt! Well done. I use polyester thread when I sew hexagons together. The stretch helps to make sure any small differences are easily corrected. Your summer tee is beautiful! Love the subtle strips. Well done for starting on holiday knitting! I have an Instagram friend who I’m meeting in San Francisco and am making her a Alpacacino sweater (by Max the knitter). She’s Welsh and lives in Northumberland. Am going to try to knit another friend up in the Bay Area a Lume by Sari Nordland-these will all be due in October. Then I have to make my husband the Old Fashioned! Lots to do! Luckily, I’ve been making a few shawls and socks on the way during the heat of the summer. BTW, I’m pretty sure Puntal is Spanish and the accent goes on the “a”. Looking forward to watching you make that wrap-I’ve wanted to make one for a while but haven’t found the right pattern. Enjoy the summer break.

You sound super busy but in such a lovely way! Of course you are absolutely right about the pronunciation and I will try and remember when I talk about it next time! It is just one of those words that I never heard out loud and my silly brain didn't connect the spanish designer with needing to check the pronunciation of the pattern. I think the wrap pattern is going to be fab but if you want a squishier brioche version, Rust Knitwear has one in testing at the moment too :) Thank you for watching 🥰

Hello from Enniskillen, Northern Ireland. Just came across your podcast and really enjoyed it. Lovely knits. I totally understand your sizing issues. I repeatedly ended up with oversized garments in the last and am now embracing knitting a size smaller than I measure! I find this quite scary. For garments I have to knit gauge swatches because my tension is so erratic. It changes with different types of yarn. But swatches are not always honest so I have had to really think about careful sizing and adjusting my knitting to fit my shape which is scraggy upper chest and melted ice-cream middle. It's quite a triumphant feeling when the finished item fits! I hope you managed to sort out your yarn for the art deco test knit. I'm not great at colour work so my preferred medium is always merino wool. I find it very forgiving. At present I am knitting Matin Storey's Cornwallis sweater in Rowan Summer lite DK and greatly enjoying it - even though, so far, I have had to modify the hems and sleeve lengths and may have to reknit the raglans because I think my tension has adjusted badly in the move from stocking to garter stitch! It was knitting up so well that I knew something couldn't be right! Looking forward to viewing your next podcast. 🧶❤️

Great podcast, love the footage of Maastricht. As a teenager I spent 3 years living in Brunssum, my Dad was stationed at AFCENT. I have many happy memories from our time there.

Wow-that shawl looks like a beautiful brass sculpture. I recently purchased some WYS to make the Old Fashioned. You are turning out to be quite the influencer! I’ve made several Isabell Kraemer sweaters and I’ve been amazed at how her construction works-have done a whole sleeve cap in short rows which was brilliant. Will look for that lovely tee as well. I’ve been learning the ziggurat method by Aså Tricosa. Seamless and very interesting method but a bit confusing at first. The course is through Knit Stars and you actually get a finished cardigan out of the lesson…if you stick with it. I love puffins as well and was sad to find out we were too late in the season to see them in Shetland during Shetland Woolweek. Thanks again for another lovely episode.

Yay! I am so glad you are doing the Old Fashioned! I want to make another one too :) I really am a fan of Isabell Kraemer's patterns; her construction and fit just works for me so it's just a pleasure :) That is really interesting about the seamless method and I have just looked it up and bookmarked it! I am not sure where you are based but my favourite place to go and look at puffins is Skomer Island in Wales :) Thank you so much for watching 🥰

@@madebymoomeeno Will have to put a pin in Skomer Island as I think I’ll be in the UK next year. I’m in CA-San Diego, so no puffins here. We do get a version in Northern California and the Pacific Northwest but I’ve never seen them.
