I think that's funny, my partner and I were just talking about watching the animals and birds more. I think we added more squirrels and rabbits to the list as well when we turned 50. We think it's because our bodies slow down which forces us to notice more. We enjoy resting more which gives us the opportunity to gaze about you. I think growing older is a Fantastic and beautiful process and that's why I no longer care what people think about me and I'm happier than I've ever been in my life. I wish I could have paused earlier to have realized the things I know now, but I am always growing... Older 😊💙🥰

This is my first time here. I’m really thankful that I found you. I am a new Netter. I’ve made one tank top and I’m making my first pair of socks. I’m on the first sock so maybe I’ll show those to you when I’m done. I’m on the toe. I am pretty proud of myself. You are a delight .

I am a shawl maniac amd love your shawl!! What a beautiful cardigan you finished for your husband. It looked great on him. I had to smile at his bold choice of colors for the new hat. I am in for the MAL. What serendipity! I just sat this evening frogging a blanket I was crocheting. It was all loose in the beginning rows...horrible. And I fell out of love with the idea of the pattern. I was doing a video call with my mother and brother and commented as a joke I must have been on drugs when I started it. 😮 And then we all three realized that I was. I was have a major medical treatment for an eye disease. This was so not normal for me. So I pulled leftovers from a previous blanket to mix with these and do something completely different. I am excited to use up this old yarn and get it out of my stash. So glad I found your podcast as I love your enthusiasm and Moomin love! 🧶

I completely agree and suggested that as an option to the designer. Having finished my first version though I would definitely recommend going up a size to increase the positive ease. Thank you for watching 🥰

Hi Kathryn- thanks for putting together the MAL. I think I will knit a summer shawl using yarn that was given to me , which I then dyed. I think that satisfies the thrifty requirement 😁

Don't you just hate it when your other hobbies get jealous of you knitting and start mocking you in the corner?! UH, the worst! 😂 However, I did realize that all my sewing bags and quilts would come in handy and I decided that I would make project bags. So far I have one cut out but would love to finish it and then make some clear with zippers. .... Just had a thought, Could I use that as items for the MAL? Also I want to remake a shawl I just finished not to long ago. It's really bad, I knew it and I didn't care. My Dad passed May 6th and it was what I was knitting. Straight garder stitch back and forth, simple increase & decrease. I would knit rows and rows, miss doing them, just added on to get my st count right & went on. It was fantastic! Exactly what I needed. I didn't care about it, I just needed to knit with no rules. It's probably going to need a wash after froging, lots of tears landed on it I'm sure, but I loved it. The thing is, I also now, that I'm doing some better, I need the shawl I cast on for and did want to make. And maybe this time correctly, thinking wonderful thoughts & happiness put into it... Sorry for that, but anyone's opinion is welcome.

Absolutely! They would be perfect for the MAL! Genuinely all crafts are welcome; just enjoy the making process! I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Sometimes our crafts can certainly provide soothing comfort but they certainly absorb our actions and feelings while we are making. Hi! I really liked the Old fashioned cardigan, and it looks good on your partner! The musselburgh hat is also amazing in the kiwi color, it really makes nice stripes! I also really like your mother's blanket, maybe someday you could show it a bit more? and tell us about the pattern? Also if you ever come to Greece and find some nice yarn, or if your mother in law recommends some, could you please share it? I am Greek and I don't know of many good quality Greek yarns, except cotton... thank you very much for this episode!🤎

Hello! I will certainly ask my mum about the pattern and ask her for some details :) The only reason we have it is that my partner saw it and claimed it when we were visiting 😂 I will also ask my mother in law about yarn but from what I have seen, the best Greek yarn in cotton yarn however Sip & Knit in Brussels had some Treliz which I believe is Greek origin. Hi from sunny San Diego! Oh my, that Old Fashioned cardigan is gorgeous! Do you happen to know when it will be released? I really would like to make one for my husband, or even myself! Happy to join the MAL as I’m using up very old starship of cotton yarn to make a self drafted Tunisian crochet bed cover. Hope it’s ok to join with something already started. If not, I’ve got lots of stash and patterns to choose from. Enjoy the summer months and the rest of the Euro Cup. We were there in Paris 7 or 8 years ago during a Euro Cup and it was crazy. I imagine it will be crazy again with the Olympics there this summer. Thanks again for another lovely video.

Hi in sunny San Diego! I am not sure when the Old Fashioned will be released but the deadline for the test is Sunday 7 July so I imagine the turnaround won't be that long. WIPs are 100% welcome so bring along your bed cover! I am looking forward to seeing it. The Euro Cup has been a little crazy but my city isn't hosting any of the games so I am just experiencing queues at the border coming from the Netherlands to Germany which is a novelty because normally the only sign that you have passed the border is a message on your phone informing you of local emergency numbers! Hi Kathryn, I started watching your podcast when I realised you and I both were test knitting The Old Fashioned Cardigan for Max. I just finished mine and I must say I really feel your pain about that mistake in the stitch pattern! I found mine as I was picking up for the button band. Needless to say, I decided to just pretend it was never there 😂
