“Is this Love” is the purest most crucial love song of all time. The picture he paints is love in its most basic and honest form. “We’ll be together, with a roof right over our head, we’ll share the shelter of my single bed” that lifestyle feels like luxury with the right person. The fact that Bob romanticized humility with all the money in the world, his videos were all just real footage of kids and adults sharing vibes and love. Kids of every race was so important to Bob to capture, for he himself was biracial in a time that was very divisive. Bob was our real messiah, as close to Jesus as one could get, his love left a deep impact on the world and still fills us with good vibes and love to this day, decades after his passing

Please Desmond Decker and the aces: "Israelites" is a song written by Desmond Dekker and Leslie Kong that became a hit for Dekker's group, Desmond Dekker & The Aces,[2] reaching the top of the charts in numerous countries in 1969. Sung in Jamaican creole, some of the song's lyrics were not readily understood by many British and American listeners at the time of its release.[3] Despite this, the single was the first UK reggae #1 and AMONG THE FIRST TO REACH THE US TOP TEN (peaking at #9).[4] It combined the Rastafarian religion with rude boy concerns,[5] to make what has been described as a "timeless masterpiece that knew no boundaries".[6]

In those days Marley was the top, there were no walkmans and today's technology but in all the beach bars and terraces Marley flooded him with his reage hits. Is this love, redemption song, waiting in vain, no woman no cry. All mixed with the last traces of hippies made for a vacation to remember for a lifetime. Listening to Marley everything lights up and the sun shines brighter. Keep on rocking ❤

Reggae was a huge thing in Europe in the 1970ties and 80ties. And it still is quite popular. Futher suggestions: Jimmy Cliff "The Harder They Come " Desmond Dekker "Israelites" Stevie Wonder "Jammin'"

This song was written for Cindy Breakspeare. Many of us suggest Get Up Stand Up which was written with Peter Tosh who was in the original Wailers with Bob and Bunny Wailer. I also highly recommend Peter Tosh's Stepping Razor and Legalize It. And for me, the deepest song Bob wrote, Redemption Song. There are so many Bob Marley songs you can do almost any one and get a great song. A couple more I like are Coming In From The Cold and Real Situation. To discover a whole bunch more great reggae artists I recommend the soundtracks of the films The Harder They Come and Rockers!. Artists like Jimmy Cliff, Desmond Dekker, Junior Murvin, The Mighty Diamonds and more. Also Black Uhuru, World Is Africa. And Eek A Mouse Wah Do Dem.

They definitely gotta check out Dennis Brown. While Bob Marley is definitely the world’s favorite reggae artist, Dennis Brown might be Jamaica’s favorite

This fact that Bob Marley once walked among us automatically made the world a better place! I suggest you check out his songs "No Woman No Cry"; "Redemption Song", "Buffalo Soldier" ;"Three Little Birds"; "I Shot the Sheriff" (which was covered by Eric Clapton) ; "War"; "One Love"; "Soul Rebel" & "Exodus". His son Ziggy is also a very talented artist. You should check out his songs "Tomorrow People"; "Love Is My Religion"; "True to Myself"; "Personal Revolution" ;"Dragonfly" & "Wild & Free".

My mum played Bob so much in my childhood. I had a rasta whistle, scarf, and used to blare out buffalo soilder at the top of my voice. Must of looked odd seeing a 5 year white kid obsessed with a different culture. Music holds no barriers, if you love it, listen dance and embrace it

"Stir It Up", "Three Little Birds", "One Love"...these are some of Marley's songs that carry the same transcendent, almost spiritual quality that characterized the Rocksteady music that reggae grew out of..."Sweet Sensation", "It's My Delight", "Rivers of Babylon" by the Melodians..."Many Rivers to Cross" by Jimmy Cliff..."Israelites" by Desmond Dekker..."Freedom Street" by Ken Boothe..."Gave You My Love" by Delroy Wilson...

Tragic that Bob Marley died of melanoma. What a great artist and humanitarian. He drove a BMW and used to joke that it stood for Bob Marley & Wailers. Now for my reaction request. Please react to Benjamin Tod singing Using Again. Tod spent much of his life hopping train cars and traveling around the country, as well as battling alcohol, heroin and other addictions. Those experiences and then coming clean infuse his songs with a really personal quality.
