    This video solidified my choice to RP a Cleric of Selune and explore a relationship with Shadowheart. People seek Shar after immense pain and seek the emptiness of the void, but what happens when someone lets a piece of light in? What happens if Shadowheart remembers her life before her great pain? So excited for this game.

    If you look at SH background in her character sheet, she definitely fit the profile of a shar worhsipper. Cant wait to discover her past :D

    Ahhh, so Shadowheart purposefully chose to forget her past ... Intriguing. Basically a church of nihilism and gothic hedonism. - I think the lore says Selune and Shar were once one single divine force, like day and night, sun and moon, but were split after something Selune did or gained. I believe I heard that in one of your other lore videos actually.

    Shar is extremely dangerous one of the top 5 in D&D as far as power goes. In the book shadow born I think it talks about Share destroying five world's. Excellent video thank you and have a good evening.

    @@HarbsNarbs I've got an idea that you might be interested in (or not): "Faerun conspiracies!" (the name is a subject to change). Find a questionable event in DnD or Fearun History and expand on it with theories (possible and wild) while using bits of lore here and there. If you'll use the same style as the narrator for that old "Twilight Zone" used' that potentially can be awesome.

    If followers of Shar are killing every Nightfall, how is anyone left alive to worship Shar? Nightfall is every night? Shadowheart *seems like* such a good person except when talking about all of the things that Shar worshipers do. I think that the people who have said she is a kidnapped Selunite is right. I can't see her killing anyone unless they are attacking her. She doesn't seem like an evil person. Maybe that is to fool us? At least Laezel is honest about what she is, and Astarion, when he isn't honest, you can tell. 2023 is going to be here so fast. I hope that Larian does finish the game by then and fix the map and a few other things too. :)

    When Larian will add paladins I want to create Batman inspired character, only an evil one (but with the similar backstory). The Dark Knight - oath of vengeance Shar worshiping paladin. His parents were killed of course, that's what drove him to worship Shar. This does makes sense lorewise, right?

  • @HarbsNarbs

    @HarbsNarbs

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yeah, if the batman style character was evil then it would make more sense as I couldn't imagine a Shar worshipper with Batman's sense of morality (although it isn't absolutely impossible for them to be at least chaotic good). It would definitely make sense for a Shar worshipper to have a tragic backstory, especially one set in grief. A paladin of Shar would be more rare in lore, as there are a lot of clerics, but anything is possible in DND 😃. A fallen paladin might be cool... maybe your character was a paladin for Helm/Tyr etc... and then fell to Shar worship in order to better avenge his or her deceased parents. However, like I said before... anything is possible if you create it. I'm not 100% sure what Larian's plans are for paladins in the full version as they have adapted some of the classes already in early access.

    @@HarbsNarbs this idea of a Dark Batman immediatly came to me when I heard about grief and loss in backstories of Shar worshipers. I like the fallen paladin idea. It definitely won't be my canon playthough, but it may be interesting depending on Larian's execution of paladins, yeah. We shall see!

    @@HarbsNarbs I don't like grief as primary motivator, not for a fighty in your face adventurer. How do you feel when you're in grief? You want to curl up into a ball and hide away. Doesn't fit. The characters grief would need to turn to rage, possibly resentment. Resentment definitely would fit a Shar worshipper to a tee. Those are emotions that make a person take action. Say, a detachment of Flaming Fist mercenaries passed through the OC's village, they didn't notice that the OC's family (parents, wife & children) had been taken hostage by a small group of men (of whatever type tickles your fancy). They bluffed the Fists successfully who then left. OC gets back home to find his entire family... your choice. Grief, then turning to rage and resentment, blaming the Fists (and by proxy human society) for allowing such a thing to happen. Starts to worship Shar as a way to punish the world for not being better.
