Après avoir visité Paris, je m'en suis acheté un (carbone # 9). Maintenant, il est toujours dans mon sac à dos en attendant l'heure du goûter. Pour moi, c'est l'un des symboles de la France et un bon souvenir de votre beau pays.

@@user-cv6ue2wt5k, а что "не так" с лезвием? У меня Опинель углеродный, ржавеет и окисляется махом. Нужно следить за лезвием.

American here. Since i was young i have always loved the opinel, as do many people from all over the world.

J'ai apprécié le sérieux de la fabrication et du service après vente l'osque sur une bouteille vraiment récalcitrante le tire-bouchon de mon couteau s'est brisé ! après un contact tout est rentré dans l'ordre : j'envois mon couteau cassé et retour quelques jours après de 2 couteaux avec un mot du service garantie : Vive la France et ses supers produits

Un très bon couteau de poche d’une simplicité a toute épreuve, j’ai toujours mon Opinel avec moi pour une bonne bouffe en forêt. Pour coupé le saucisson, le fromage ou encore les steaks. Je l’adore!

On aime ou pas,néanmoins Opinel,c'est plus qu'un couteau,c'est notre enfance et adolescence pour beaucoup d'entre nous,perso j'aime les lames et Opinel restera une légende et un couteau que je conseillerais,je rêve de la version manche "plastique", il est magnifique ^^.

Excelente documental!! Yo tengo la numero 6 y unas otras marcas de diferentes países también. No hay nada mejor que una navaja Opinel. He viajado mucho incluyendo España (el Camino de Santiago) ,Guatemala,México, Estados Unidos,Cuba,Perú ,etc. y siempre en compañía de mi Opinel numero 6. Llevo 22 años con la misma navaja y creo que trataré de llegar a la fabrica a comprar una Opinel nueva, esta vez número 8 en carbón. Es una navaja muy noble ,con un filo inprecionante y muy liviana. BUEN TRABAJO OPINEL!!!

It was funny at the beginning where all the hosts and interviewer were trying to speak over each other when the real star of the show was the knife. 😀 It's nice that though the knife making process is mostly automated they are still sharpened by hand. 😀

These ladies can make me a sammich any day! All jokes aside just got my first opinel #8 in inox. With oak handle. As a knife enthusiast I can see why this knife has been around so long and stood the test of time. The beauty is the simplicity.

@@userakauser Пожалей себя, так как о вкусах не спорят. И не всегда нужен и удобен фиксированный с клинком из булата или дамаска, тем более в кармане.

I do like and use Opinel. In fact I've used a #10 I modified a bit as my only kitchen knife for a year. Nontron is way older but they are more expensive. The problem is taking them out into wet conditions where the wood swells and you can't open the knife any more. They used to have the #8 model with plastic handle in Inox but no longer. They should bring it back and also for the #9 and #10.

There is an “Outdoor” (nº8) model, featured in the video (handle in bicolor synthetic matter, stainless steel blade), which is - as the name implies - very handy for outdoor activities. I have used a number of them over the years (I often give mine to a friend as a present & then buy another). Very satisfying pocket knife.

@@christianfournier6862 Try to find one now. I have these but can't find them now. They should have made this plastic handle ones in all sizes and both carbon and stainless steel. The wooden handle sucks when in rainy or wet places.

The "Outdoor" (n°8) model would be exactly what you want (same design, lighter synthetic handle) except for the blade with an oblong hole (for unscrewing small padeyes) and several notches (for cutting branches). The whistle is not very useful (to me, except for walking an unleashed dog). In addition, the handle colors are a bit flashy - there used to be a light-grey/dark-grey model which was very elegant but these colors are no longer in the catalog. I got used to this "Outdoor" knife. The sharpened part of the blade is a bit smaller than I would wish, but the notches are very handy in the field for cutting branches. And the stainless steel blade is easily sharpened (I use a Belgian "Easysharp" pocket sharpener). The "Outdoor" (n°8) model is more expensive (costs about 25 Euros), but it is durable ; maybe you could give it a try.

Ce serait un bon sujet pour thèse en économie. Une société qui produit le même objet depuis 130 ans au même endroit, ça court pas les rues. C'est donc un bon "cobaye" pour mesurer l'évolution de la productivité et du pouvoir d'achat.

il produisent leur couteaux depuis 130 ans mais ils ont beaucoup évolué ces dernières années avec des couteaux moins traditionnels afin de prendre d'autres marchés

I have a carbon steel Opinel. I LOVE that little knife. I carry it everywhere. I only use it to cut my food at home and at restaurants. I use it to field dress wild game I hunt as well.

pour une cote de boeuf il n y a rien de mieux que l opinel n 12 !!

Un bon vieux "pinel" N°8, le couteau que tu recevais vers les 10 ans pour passer tes journées dehors à fabriquer des arcs, couper des branches pour les cabanes, jouer à la ''pich'nette'' entre potes, le planter dans les arbres ...etc... J'en ai perdu beaucoup étant môme, les poches des shorts n'étaient pas profondes, mais il me reste un N° 12 qui m'a aidé bien des fois, en kaki sur le terrain,dans les 80's.
